My favorite base design is centralished town, Its just combination town and mega structure, The big structure is middle followed by workshops and houses, central building have important things like recreation area dining room fdrige room kichen and a barrak (barraks are not normally used , they are for refugges and new members) when any fallouts or manhunter packs happens everyone come inside themega structure and live there Comment from : ATI GAMER |

I enjoy making colonies focused around bridges and water tbh Rimworld used to have waist deep water was impassable in older versions, but you can activate that again with mods Makes for some interesting colony builds/bridge defense scenarios in my opinion and really lets you use water more creatively Comment from : ambientTakeover |

I have 3 go to designsbrbrDesign 1 I have dubbed the line It is basically a 20 deep wall in the centre of the map with rooms and courtyards interconnected via a series of corridors and maintenance corridors It does extremely well against raids due to the sheer mass of doors and the redundancy corridors meaning I can flank very easy and get them in a crossfirebrbrDesign 2 I have dubbed the moonbase It is basically the same as the village design shown in the video but built around a geothermal vent and connected with 1 wide corridorsbrbrDesign 3 is my magnum opus I call it the Atlantic Wall 2: Electric Boogaloo It is a coastal cliffs base with turret bunkers and guard posts spanning the entire cliff face Behind those are all of my buildings built shallowly into the mountain Usually the dp raids that I've seen avoid the turret range automatically, but I think thats due to a mod for smarter raiders I have, so the entire thing turns into Ohama beach in the later raids Comment from : OLYMPUS XI |

Slaves You forgot slaves Superstructures are effective in terms of slave oppression - they are not bound just to one "slave building", they can just move around whole facility, sweep floors and roll joints without ever getting that "map edge available" - just make some sort of animal enclosure in the middle, so they don't get "haven't seen a sky in a while" debuff and can shear all your alapacas meanwhile Comment from : Adam Ševčík |

Mountain base infestation tip: Infestations are more likely to occur in a room that is warm, dirty, and dark It's a guarantee that you will get an infestation at least once in a mountain base playthrough, so you can plan accordingly by making one room in your base the infestation room Order your colonists to never clean it, keep a strong door to it forbidden, and never build any lights in it Lastly, make sure you have a plan to defend it when they do spawn in there You can easily set the room up to be turned into an oven when the infestation occurs by having a long hallway with some wood furniture in it to be burned when they spawn Keep the hallway long so they don't have enough time to get to your pawn before they are able to light the furniture and get out the door before the bugs get therebrbrbrOn toxic fallouts affecting town style bases: Just build roofs in between buildings You should be doing that anyway to keep your pawns out of the rain Pawns get debuffs to shooting and mood when in rain Comment from : Bigcoin |
