Hi Matthew! Thanks for the insightful videobrbrMy question about the lighting network has to do with the fees to set up the channel As bitcoin becomes the global reserve currency I can imagine that the fees for on-chain transactions will become quite high High fees would make setting up the initial channel non viable brbrI can imagine that it is something like opening a bank account, which is something that you do only once every few years Still, at 1 million on-chain transactions per day capacity (arbitrarily chosen) it would take 8000 days (21 years) to onboard humanity into the lighting networkbrbrPlease comment on this and let me know if my reasoning is flawed

I used to have a lightning node, since I moved my internet is not stable enough to run one, shitty wifi 😭brbrYou can run one on a raspberry pi real easy brYou can learn alot about btc by using the apps to follow the transactions etc Highly recommend trying it out

LN is critical to bitcoin adoption and use cases 100 agree that layering is the best solution in order to preserve integrity of bitcoin core base layer However, is there concern that LN may become too all-eggs in one basket? Would it be better if there was another commensurate/alternative LN-like solution available? From a redundancy and risk-management perspective, I hope over time we do see this Aggregate result will still be the same; bitcoin adoption and use continues to accelerate Great video, thank you for posting!

I highly reccomend (For technically savy people only) running your own LND node instead of using a service like Umbrel for anyone trying to set one up its much more rewarding to know how your whole node works rather than trying to depend on user interface features that are in beta release and very much inconsistent with what is happening within the nodes relevant processes its also honestly not extremely easy to do so dont do it "for fun" it will drain your sats if you arent careful setting up your own node is not necessary for all end users but might be something to consider for business owners moving lots of btc volume in relatively small denominations
