When i work on a board that was sealed, most of the time i use the mg chemical 422b formal coating, it stick to anything, you can spray a very thin coat and it dry in 10min, its literaly a silicon based product you should try it someday, im sure you would like it

Good solder joints are a really good skill I've built a lot of electronic projects over the years so good to know Lol $100 per pin to do a soldering job - I bet that a company like Apple would try that on it's Cult of IOS customers

(clear) nail polish will have the same result as these conformal coatings: a transparent waterproof film over the board Can be used to re-proof it

The brass brush out of a dremil set removes that UV cure polyester/epoxy rather well Ar least the board isnt completely bricked in thermoset epoxy like HV modules Seen that before😢

A sucker has to be cleamed regularly, mineral oil on the o ring, there is a modlel that has a heated tip, that tip has a hole in it thru the center, it works really well,,, it also has a small vacume pumpit to has to be cleaned but only when its been used for a lot of holes, good for thru the board pins

Thanks to your videos, I was able to diagnose and repair my LG dryer controller These will many times burn up a diode in the power supply circuit if you use the steam option I read online about several other ppl having the same problem Just wanted to say thank you! 🙏🏽 brbrI also don’t like solder suckers The he solder always cools too quick to set it flat against the board I guess if someone invented a soldering iron with a hollow tip attached to a vacuum, that might work I always end up going back to the wick

Quite a common fault with power relays, as they age the contacts start to get hot This leads to thermal expansion and a dry solder joint that starts to arc Had an inverter in for relay replacement but the arcing had burnt most of the way through the PCB

Most likely unleaded solder I also use low temperature solder My experience I tin the legs of the relay first Sometimes it’s hit/miss if you don’t tin the legs I have used discarded solder wick and an exacting knife to redo the trace

PCBs that are used in most Whirpools are known to have really hard solder and their holes have rings on the both sidesThe best way to desolder with a hand vacuum pump it is also to add lower temperature solder and heat it up wellUsually 60/40 or 60/37 works well for me

9:15 A small "C clamp" works great too in situations you cant (or dont want to) put your hand close to the work area Can pick up a nice light weight small one from harbor freight tools, or any other tool place pretty much Just be sure to not twist the thing down and crush a component

It is always the relay, square pins in a round hole is a pita, especially when high currents,are there that heat up the solder, cooling, heat up, etc I saved many washing machines an dryers by adding solid copper to the traces and resoldering Nice to see you have the same experience
