Windows is failing as an operating system that anyone could use, and with windows 10 soon being out of support brI think Zorin OS and Nobara are pretty good operating systems i will switch to in future cause it runs so well and has almost everything i need

Lunar client is a great client for fps cause I get 60 to 130 fps brAnd my laptop has a core 2 duo brIt has a intel cheapset and 4gb ram brBtw all the settings turned down so do check lunar client out if you have low end devise

Gnome is known for being one of the Worst Performing Desktop Environment, wouldn't recommend if we are trying to get the best performance for gaming

NotroDan The reasn why the windowed mode feels laggier than fullscreen is becuase Linux has this thing called compositing, which makes ur system have animations, prevent screen tearing and stuff This is autmaticly disbaled in the background when a window goes into fullscreen mode This is any linux that uses Gnome,Kde or anyother major desktops U can disable this in settings

Fun tip sorry I’m late Been watching a few videos from you about Linux and I’m happy your covering Linux brbrWith Linux you could squeeze ever more performance out of changing your cpu governor or your cpu scaling speed Also you can install alternate kernels I don’t recommend trying to install a custom kernel if your a newbie to Linux As they can really give you a headache brbrbrbrAnd If your using an AMD gpu you don’t have to install any drivers really as there already in the Linux kernel Hope this helps for anyone

Hey I have got the same specs and i play on Windows 10 and I'll tell you to try badlion Lite , i use both clients and get 200Fps on lunar and over 400fps on badlion Lite when optimised

unfortunately, the mouse not locking to the minecraft windows has been a problem to every linux minecraft players I reckon it has to do with how X handles window-cursor locking for specific windows, and no one has been able to fully fix it ESC will be always the go to workaround
