Which Zen 3 CPU are you liking the most? Got a couple more videos coming out surrounding it! Comment from : Tech YES City |
I run a 5900X with an CPU Core Ratio set to 4500, which translates to 45 GHz max speed, even though using Ryzen Master to test the overclock speed returned a 5050 GHz speed on this CPU I don't like running them full throttle like that It shortens its lifespan Comment from : LI Archer |
Why I got the 5600x gets a couple less frames half the price and stays cool at 43GHz steady with AIO Bigger isn't always better Love the video definitely get a sub from me Comment from : Bald Badger Games |

5950x because why tf not? Comment from : MrBratkenSolov |

I found a dirt cheap 5900x in the UK for £215 a few months ago Paired it with a 3080 It's nice not needing to worry about performance for literally anything I would personally be doing More than happy to wait for the 8000 series and the 5000 series products from their respective companies in a couple of years Comment from : Mr Elba |

After 13 years my AMD Phenom II x4 955 rig finally bit the dust this past march For the past 13 years, I've never been happy with the offerings for either intel or AMD So I kept holding off upgrading I used to upgrade every 3-5 years for decades Believe it or not that old rig held its own other than upgrading the hard drives, power supply and video card Been waiting and waiting since my old rig crapped out and finally there's a sale on Amazon Got the Ryzen 9 5900x for $388 32 off Sweet All the other parts were on sale too Motherboard 570s passive cooling 21 off 32 gigs 21 off Finally price for performance is back to normal! The 1TB M2 drive and CPU cooler were not on sale but the money I saved on the other 3 parts I was good to go Finally I will be able to dump this laptop!! I'm still going to use my 750watt power supply which I got back in 2019 and the video the RT 480 8 gig The video card should be able to hold its own until there's better offerings from AMD or Nvidia though I've never owned an Nvidia It did pretty good boosting the performance in games on the Phenom II Comment from : Ancientreapers |

I don't do professional content creation, but I stream using x264, and have started to do vtubing using VSeeFacebrbrVSF uses the cpu for tracking and it's maxing out my CPU when streaming XDbrbrThat's my reason for going to get the 5950x XDbrbrNote, I have a R5 3600 XD Comment from : Gabriel Tobing |

i recently got a 3090fe and currently have a 5600x, I was told quite strongly that the cpu would heavily hold back the pc and should upgrade but judging by the benchmarks ( I play at 1440p) I shouldn't really bother Or do people recommend upgrading? Comment from : Lewis Mills |
Did you ever have the thought enter your brain that if you are using the 5900X or 5950X for gaming you can just run them with SMT off as straight 12/16 Core CPUs getting more performance out of games at far lower temps because Cores are better than Threads - and of course because of the headroom you will be able to clock the cores higher?brbrOf course you didn't Comment from : Michael Nager |
I'm right about to buy 5900x But today difference in price between 5900x and 5950x is $166 My main goal is productivity Vray, NLE, processing 360sbrA bit faster cores or more coresbrWhat is best? Comment from : DontPanicDad |
I needed another machine for my 3D, so I got the 5950x and was so impressed I took my 3900x out of the other machine and put a 5950x in it also! Comment from : John Dicus |
If you're building a super premium PC for gaming don't rule out the 5950x The 5900x is fantastic but the 5950x will basically make you immune to slow-down and stutters caused by background processes, so long as you pair it with at least 32 gigs of RAM Comment from : Fetchdafish |
Here we go, school's in session Comment from : SQ_TierHog |

not comfortable running over 90 degrees? brblaughs nervously in intel-mac/b Comment from : Ewan Lim |
I ended up getting the 5950x for $670 with taxes included in the price I'm glad I got this I literally traded up from the 5600x to 5800x to the 5950x and while the other 2 processors are great for what I needed the 5950x was a must but the 5800x is great as well Comment from : IE Metal Guitar |
Intel Core i7-12700K or one of these CPUS? Comment from : Anthony Romero |
8 cores is the sweet spot for games today but betting five years later that sweet spot is gonna double! When that happens I'm STILL going to be happy with my OLD rig of that time! If you get the 16 core system and don't need it today, eventually you ARE going to need it for one of those future tomorrows So yeah, gaming can't really use it to it's full potential yet but tomorrow's games are always getting more complicated and when they DO eventually get to 12 core games or even up to 16 Me? I'm already set Could I have save around $250? Yeah but on the same note this rig SHOULD be good for at least a solid five years What's $250 over five years? Gaming insurance Comment from : James Loll |
Had to settle for a 5800x since it’s all I could find Was on sale for 370$ so I got a good deal High temps though Comment from : jimmyramos |
I went with ryzen 9 5900x Comment from : Dave Noneya |
Great video straight to the point very engaging, I had done my research and made up my mind just looking for some confirmation I don’t use my pc for anything except gaming and also I knew I wouldn’t be able to take advantage of all the cores for 5950x at least in the near future so I think I’ll just go with 5900x I was just looking for a excuse to spend more money 😂 but think I’ll be just fine with 12 cores Comment from : Juvee |
I strictly game and just built a PC with a 5800x This cpu is a monster and it has exceeded my expectations It runs a little warm, use an aio or a decent air cooler Comment from : Adam Adkins |
Are you not worried about those temps? brbrI have a 5950, I'm about to send it back as I get 85c in games This is with a 280 AIO Comment from : Ali Rezaei |

Does the opinion of the 5900X over the 5950X when fully water cooled? As you said heat is the problem with the 5950X Comment from : Jamie Bonnett |
A good thing to consider is total cost of ownership, a 5950x will resale for more than a 5900x recovering some and maybe all of the $250 difference on the other end Historically i7 have resold for the price difference new over an i5, costing $0 more to have gotten the i7 over an i5 after resale, upgrading past 3-4 years the resale difference starts to shrink So far Ryzen CPUs have followed this same trend, the resale difference between 2 CPUs is very close to the MSRP differencebrbrAs an example: A new $400 I7 vs $300 i5, when you sell them 2 years later the I7 is now $300 and the I5 $200, both cost the same $100 to own for 2 years Comment from : Jake Foster |
5900x is already the best of all Comment from : Kelvin Moses |
My laptop CPU runs at a hundred degrees all day long every day without fail so if you want a 5950x don't be afraid to overclock Comment from : erickwalker11 |
Great video!brDo you think the 5950x would have a noticeable advantage over the 5900x in a multicam timeline with 2 or at most 3 cameras in davinci resolve? Comment from : Marcus |
Awesome thank you! Comment from : Saad Kidwai |
But the price difference is too crazy in my opinion I got the 5900x for 439 dollars I also have 3900xt and 5800x None I have used yet because I'm waiting for all my watercooling parts and gpu RMA to come back So I'm going to sell the 5800x and the 3900xt Comment from : Chris Johnson |
What about if running virtual machines? I want to run Linux Mint as my main OS and have Windows 10 running on my second monitor inside a VM I like the idea of each operating system having 8 cores to themselves each, hence why I'm thinking the 5950x is the best option for me Comment from : dustopia |
I bought the 5950x because I couldn't find the 5900 and got tired of waiting No regrets, thing is a beast Comment from : XRPaul Revere |
Whichever one you wantand can findbrbr"Which one is for you" is subjective You can't tell me what I wantand even if you think I don't 'need' what I buy, I don't carebrbr You don't get to choose my hardware Jackass Comment from : Edamnaf |

Just so you know, you can get Thunderbolt 3 on x570 motherboards For example, my AORUS x570 Ultra has a Thunderbolt 3 header and separate Gigabyte Thunderbolt 3 card that is compatible For my motherboard specifically, it's Rev 11/12 The original 10 revision does not have the Thunderbolt header And in the BIOS you have full control over it (eg restricting it to DisplayPort output only) So you don't even need Intel for Thunderbolt support anymore Comment from : Not Kylo Ren |
I would have got the 5950x but I'm lucky I got a 5900x at this point Comment from : SlyNine |

Weren’t there some 5800X issues because some of them are 8 cores on 2 chiplets? So you don’t get better latencies Comment from : doggiehowzer |
I am buying 5950X not because i need it, but I like to see 5950X sitting there instead of an AMD-FX Once in a while I do CPU-ID to make sure LOL brYou look at the PC as a tool, but I look at it as a friend Comment from : Babak Badri |

Okay what would you choose if money is not a problem and you are able to buy both ? Does the 5900x actually performs better than 5950x if you do not render videos ? Comment from : GoofyPanda |
So given that a non-scalper 5900x is completely nonexistent and I use my pc for more than just gaming, will I be good with a 5950x? I have one arriving on Friday The extra money isn’t that big of a deal for me Comment from : TheStereoField |
If one of either becomes available at MSRP and money is still an issue, go with the 5900xif one is ever available from factory or reputable retailer Comment from : kenney0313 |
If had to ask yourself that question, you don-t really need either one Comment from : Brane 2 |

Consoles have had 8 cores for 8 years now Just keep that in mind Comment from : Lars |
One reason you might want the 12 or 16 core chip is if you're recording and want to use x264 instead of NVENC brbrAlso, you might want the 12 core for multitasking If your game takes 8 cores and you want to have Facebook or youtube open, you're gonna need a few more cores to run windows!brbrJust my thoughts Comment from : Torbjørn Nordgaren |
a build with either a 5900x or 5950x with nice components will be totalling around $3000 even at the bare minimum at this price level $250 does not gonna make any difference i would go 5950x Comment from : Barnabás Kámán |
None, because overhyped, too expensive to be a good deal and the 5950x is incredibly hard to cool For workstations, go with a Threadripper, for gaming, go with the 10850k Also AGESA lately is pretty unstable and buggy Had to send my 5950x and x570 mainboard because of those issues A 900€ CPU is nothing i'd like to betatest AMD Comment from : Hikari |
I bought the 5950x because it was in stock, sometimes it's that easy Comment from : DDV |
It depends Everybody has different situation I found two pieces of 3090X for only $65 more than 5800X in expensive european prices And while 5800X is already expensive and usually runs hotter, and could not even get it, 5900X was a nobrainer I guess others have it different Comment from : CrashPCcz |
