Nice video I have several of these switches around my house One thing that you didn’t mention that may be self explanatory is that you can set any button press to set any Homekit color bulb to a certain color I have one of these switches on the back porch and it controls on/off and colors to my Hue Lily bulbs outside Comment from : Jimmy Broady |

bGrouped our dining and living rooms together to be controlled simultaneously /bbdo7pl/HueSwitchp/bb The base is magnetic so we attached it to the side of our fridge As a nice surprise, the remote can cycle through 5 different scenes upon the re-press of the on button The quality is also great Surprised the price is only $25/b Comment from : Andy Jame |

Hi Eric I have one short question: how can I (best) group several Hue bulbs as 1 lamp?brI know “sacrifice” my zones because I group lamps as a “room” There must be a better way, I reckon Comment from : Tom M |

I’m receiving a Phillips 3rd Gen Hue Starter Kit tomorrow It’s got three bulbs, the Hue Hub & the Dimmer Switch I started my SmartHome with Apple TV 4K and 2 x original HomePods Adding this Hue Hub is next expansion brbrFrom what I understand in your video I can now buy more switches and bulbs and outfit my whole place now that I have the Hue Hub and Home AppbrbrI am already impressed what I can do with Siri HomePods and Apple 4K TV brbrI can only imagine the different scenarios I can set up with lightingbrbrGlad I stumbled upon your video 🙏 Comment from : Bruce Burke |

Does this need a hub? How does it compare to Caseta dimmers? Comment from : gsti1985 |

I have 5 undercounter led's lights for a kitchen I have to put in They will be on 5 separate switches as it's not practical to wire them all together My question, is there a wireless system out there that would allow me to either turn them all on and off and/or dim them all from one place? Comment from : Duane Wilson |

I can’t get the buttons to work based on how I program it in HomeKit It keeps responding to how it is programmed inside Hue app Any thoughts? Thanks Comment from : M M |

Your channel is great (first comment ever for me) Keep the good stuff coming — it’s great to see logical, well-considered ideas for HomeKit integrations & novel ways of using existing gadgets that don’t require in-depth workarounds or technical knowledge Comment from : Luke |

HibrDo you need a home hub (like ipad, homepod or ATV) to realize your setup with the dimmer switch? As i dont need to control my home from away i dont have a home hub setupbrThanks for your answer and videos Comment from : Michael Lattrell |

Love your videos man, keep it up! Going to get a couple of these to control the kitchen and living room lights, but would a motion sensor be better for the bathroom? Comment from : Geo M |

I love these things and just about every room in my house has at least one of them I've got them setup with varying degrees of complexity with toggling and various actions for each button I also giggle every time I use one to control my LIFX bulbs! Comment from : myHomeKithome |

Just found your channel, thx for info on homebridge and the Phillip’s Hue switch BUT does your wife view the smart switches as convenient or just something to put up with? (My own spouse is no fan of technology) Comment from : Ed Bouhl |

Thank you for doing these videos I’m just getting into the smarthome game and have decided to focus on HomeKit compatible devices My desire would be to purchase a specific brand smart devices (all same brand switches, plugs etc) as much as possible Two questions 1) is this a good strategy 2) if so, what brands would be wise to focus on? Comment from : Robert Phillips |

I have been following your smart home homekit tips for a while They are great We just moved into a large home with many light switches - usually there are two or three grouped together Can the smart switches replace the regular switches and still fit in the same foot print? The current switches are not the flip up/down but they look similar to smart switches (rectangular) Would really appreciate any knowledge on this I can send photo if that helps clarify We definitely need some “scenes” as there is simply too much to turn off and on especially before bed Thanks so much Comment from : Allan R Scott |

I wish the Lutron Caseta line of switches had this functionality I’m not of the mind to add another manufacturer into my setup, but really like the Hue’s option of assigning an illumination percentage to a ‘one touch’ button push brAnother good video Thanks Comment from : uniqueflh |

Great video Eric! Thanks for showing your setup! Another huge plus I think would be that they are super easy for family or kids to trigger more advanced scenes without having to use Siri or other devices I have not used any of the hue dimmer switches, but you pointed out some great use cases and showed that there is some opportunity to really get creative with them I’m inspired! Thank you for making these videos They are so helpful in being able to rethink and plan how to use the hue products I have been on the fence about jumping into this ecosystem because of its expense but it does give me some food for thought Comment from : Denny Santos |
