I don’t get like the whole “the environments just assets” thing, like of course they’re just assets, one model can cost upwards of £1000, how would any indie dev who hasn’t received funding who does have rich parents afford custom models?

Also the errors with the sound is pretty easy to fix, I don't know this thing took him 2 years like IMAO ! The easy fix with this is in ue4 go to your zombies base AI BP and change the zombie sound from "Play Sound 2D" to "Play Sound 3D" node and attach your zombie sound there Trust me it will sound way more polished than some 2D sound playing over when the zombies spawn

Basically this guy followed Virtus tutorials and this game is 70 assets taken from UE Marketplace and 30 actual coding which he coded watching tutorials like Virtus etc Also this game is made in UE4 I can spot these because I am also an Unreal Engine game developer with over 10 years of experience working on both Triple A and Indie studios

Aged 13 I wrote my 1st game for the C64 It got released through Ocean Some 10 years later I was designing and creating business software and had a very good career in that arena I am now retired My original game started with nothing but my 1st line of code Give the lad a chance, it took balls to reach out Yes it is fucking terrible given the damn tools you all have now, but he's giving it a go If it doesn't work out

I feel the pointing out that he was 16 was done intentionally tbh, chances is he already knew the state of what he made and what Fry's opinion would be on it, which is why he said he were 16 and doing school, as anyone usually do at that age brbrDo i think its an amazing job he did, not really, its pretty barebone, wouldnt be surprised if most of it if not all of it is straight out the box from whatever marketplace thats available for the engine he used, he do have a good foundation to build on, but thats about as far as that goes, a good foundation, hopefully he sticks to developing games and improve over time

1 year late on this, but in having seeing lots of video about his since, the mouse sensitivity is for people who use thier fingers to move the mouse, some people move their hands, my frined used his entire arm (and he was better than most at cs so not an insult, even though I thought it was rdiculous)

For what it's worth, I think you pointed out a lot of the negatives and didn't highlight the positives of this game It looks good, and for a 16 year old kid doing it, there's definitely promise compared to a lot of the other bullshit asset-flips that are going for 20$ and have a fraction of actual playable content that isn't broken or just straight up not functioning Snakebite studios, if you read this, quality control You've definitely got a cool game I would definitely pick up for 3-7 bucks

What this Kid did is awesome and Fry needs credit for the way he expanded his knowledge on the game dev in general like it was amazing to see him giving an honest review instead of trashing the game or just talking about problem he talked about what possibily will be the cause of the bug and what might be a potential fix As a game dev that's the best kind of review you can get I guess I am looking forward to see one of the really good game made by this kid in the near future Good luck to you Snakebite Studios

Honesty is good, but this dude is sixteen, and coming from a fellow game dev, this project looks pretty fucking good, especially since he says its "unique art" which I asume means that it isn't an asset flip And this is his first game? are you kidding? This dude is going great places The ADS issue is annoying of course, but its relatively easily fixable by putting the gun on a seperate renderlayer so it doesnt interact with the environment I do agree that he should probably release this into early access, or better yet, hold back on launch and use what he currently has to pitch the project to an investor, using what hes got so far as a vertical slice

For the Ads Problem maybe The Pubg Ads uhh code might help Though Cuz On PUBG you can't Ads when Your Looking at the wall and Maybe to Fix the ADS is not to let the Player to Aim Down Sights when It's very Close to the Wall or just what big fry TV Said Pushes the Character away from the well when Doing ADS or Aim down Sights from the wallbrbrbrbrEdit: I'm not a Professional I'm just A modder for rusted warfare and I'm just saying Maybe it'll help
