overview for people who dont want to watch the videobrId say the 1400 is about 5 behind in frames most of the timebrbut the gpu with the 1400 seems to cap faster which when that happens (happens when you expect it to happen ie when shit goes haywire) and qhen the gpu caps id say the 1600 gets a 10 lead

You guys need to remember that all of ryzen 5 and above is hyper threaded and yes intel may still be doing better gaming wise but most people want to future proof and later on in the years games will finally utilize those extra 2-4 threads and if your a video editor or want to stream and all, ryzen is the way to go, and best value is ryzen 5 1600, $161 on Amazon barely used at all Ryzen 5 1500x is $159, and $139 or less for 1400 If your going to be streaming opt for the 1600, streaming uses about 4-8 threads NOT CORES

I dont really see any point in getting the 1600 as I don't plan on doing any streaming or much recording or anything like that The 1400 fits nicely into my budget right now and it looks like it is a perfectly capable cpu for gaming If you really needed the additional cores and threads I would say the 1600 is still a great buy though

Ryzen needs more optimization in games, Just look at gpu utilization When is goes under like 95 that usually means the cpu is the bottleneck buy the cpu itself barely uses more that 60 of its full capacity Optimization is needed

all this game test is good enough, except Battlefield 1brbrI know you want to have a cool, consistent benchmark, side by side etc But trying BF 1 on story mode doesnt help show the performance difference much My FPS with my FX-6300 and RX-480 gave me more or less the same as yours If possible, go to multiplayer and of course, disable DX-12 as DX-12 reduce the performance of both AMD and Nvidia

I am starting to think all those CPU`s with hyper threading gives the wrong measurement of CPU usage including the i7/Xeon It seems to me what is happening is that CPU usage is calculated as if you have 8 or 16 real CPU cores I have tried disabling hyper-threading in games on my Xeon and i7`s and gaming performance stays the same or gets a little better while CPU usage is exactly doubled (actully CPU usage it is the same, only calulated for half as many CPU cores)

i5 has always been a not very good buy You can get a socket 1150/1151 Xeon for a little more or same price (in those sockets the Xeon is just a i7 without built in graphics) The Xeon is still a good buy even after the low end Ryzens came and for gaming it beats the Ryzen at same price
