I like the option to get cash just in case if I dont feel like traveling, but 5 redemption rate is a total f rip off from CapitalOne Even Chase, while having crap category multiplies for typial spending (no gas for instance) is giving 1 to 1 for redeeming Ultimate Points for cash Comment from : @mlodyme3675 |
I love sprit for me it works perfect Comment from : @bialeipelthollfmann9226 |

This video was so helpful! Thank you! Putting in another vote for you to do an in depth transfer partner video for international/domestic/ AND hotels! brI have the Alaska credit card (almost 15 years), my husband has the United Explorer card (almost 8 years), I have Platinum status with Expedia, and I am totally overwhelmed trying to figure out which travel card would be best to work with everything we already have! We are also platinum honors with BofA, so even contemplating their premium rewards card for cash back but worried about never having miles 😔 Would love any help! Comment from : @jenbianchi2428 |

Capital One calls them “miles” because their marketing point is that cardholders should redeem their “miles” for travel (rentals, hotels, airfare) through the Capital One Travel portal Hence the card line “Venture” as in explore Comment from : @xRaramuri |

I know you talk about transferring cashback from the Savor One card to Venture X miles, but can it go the other way? What is the exchange rate? That could help to get the 1 cent-per-point for cash if miles transfer 1:1 to cashback on a non-travel card Comment from : @ryanhunt9463 |
Does this work for Venture One as well? Comment from : @Archt1cStreams |
Incredible video, thanks for the insight Two questions if you know I just opened a venture one rewards card with a welcome bonus of 20k points after spending $500 within the first 3 months Do I get those points automatically once I spend $500 in the first 3 months? Or do I wait until 3 months no matter what? Additionally can I ease some of the cost transferring points to an airline even though I don’t have the full points required? Thanks! |
Thanks for all the videos you made I've learned a lot from them Quick question: how did you decide which Airline partner to transfer to I tend to look for Asian airlines to fly to Asia but in this case you chose British Airways Comment from : @jetduongofficial |
I have had capital one platinum for years and I am just sick of it to be honest I hate it I stopped using it because they would never increase my limit Years latter I am still at 500 dollars I always make sure I pay my bill before even the due date and I can’t use the freaking card like debit card all I can spend on the card is maximum of 10 which is 10 dollars a month like what’s the point of the card?🤦🏼♀️ Comment from : @BaibaSK92 |
I have the quicksilver card, should I product change it to the savor one? Comment from : @christopheresquivel4169 |

This is the best video I’ve seen explaining point redemption value Can you do chase, citi, BofA as well Also can you do a video comparing the CC issuers and who has the best value for point system Like compare the best type of redemption from CapOne vs the best redemption from Chase Comment from : @figueroajose7841 |

Now you're talking will have to look for that Philippines flight to Boracay! Comment from : @oicned5254 |
I would also talk about the opportunity cost of spending so many miles on business class fares If you blow 70,000 miles on one single flight, you should be also calculating What is the opportunity cost of that? How many economy flights could I have redeemed for that, same number of miles? Let’s say the answer is you can book a single economy flight for 20,000 miles That means in my head when you blow 70,000 miles that has an actual cost of around $700 of lost opportunity Comment from : @steftrando |
I love your videos bro 🤜🏻🤛🏻🙌🏻 Comment from : @liosnelgonzalezcasas |
Such awesome content I am loving my Capital One Venture X card obtained based on your guidance Comment from : @JimOutLoud |

Those transfer partners can provide some killer value if you find the right bookings!! I've found some good value in Capital One's travel portal as well, but at the end of the day, transfer partners are almost always the best way to go as you displayed here Nice video John! Comment from : @SpencerJohnsonOfficial |
I realized that a while back with my Discover & Citi cards If I took the cash value I was losing money, while I could get gift cards to places I regularly do business with and gained another 20 cash back Comment from : @LacDole |

John great video and explanations! I'm new to credit cards and miles But just received my Venture card and trying to utilize it My question is, how long does it take for the miles to be converted? Is it a few days or within a few hours? That is because lets say I find a better deal after converting, can I re-convert it back? How does that work in that case? Comment from : @kaung_kkn |

Thank you so much for the explanation and the examples❤ Does this formula work for Chase credit cards? Comment from : @leticiamartinez8785 |
Ok I think there’s one thing that needs to be addressed for cpp from transfer partners Since you’re looking at least a year out, the flight prices in dollars are super inflated… like by 50-200 So if you were to actually wait until a good booking time (which capital one does in their travel portal), it will look less like the crazy 5-10 cpp that is often quoted for these deals That being said, it’s still 2-4 cpp typically, so definitely still the best way to redeem, but not exactly always the home run like people say Comment from : @igglet333 |
