Howdy! enjoyed this video I would indeed love to see a review on RS-M50M3 radio Love watching these reviews On fishing trips up north I always bring my tapes along as part of tradition for the last 40 years But finding working units at garage sales are rare these days! Reviews like this help me find a good recently manufactured unit Cheers from Montreal! Comment from : CKGM990 |
I just dont get why a good brand name can crank out a grand slam homerun Just imagine if Panaphonics bring out a new line of tape decks that just get it right and put cheap decks to shame Comment from : PrankZabba |

I like the look of it Comment from : Mr Max |
If it has a headphone jack you can connect it to a decent pair of computer speakers and get considerably better sound That's what I do I have a cheap hand me down box radio similar to yours and bought some old Philips computer speakers at the salvation army Comment from : Fred Rodnick |
People take stereo for granted these days Of course, you don't often find people selling a 2-speaker boombox in mono anymore Comment from : Joe Blankenship |

What we really need is it to be able to convert cassettes to digital That would be great Comment from : Lunar Module |
Finally a new cassette player that doesn't suck You could always change out the speakers, with some 3D printed brackets if necessary Also, the smaller magnet is a neodymium one, so it could be as strong as the big fat ferrite Comment from : Krzysztof Czarnecki |

I'd love to see a review of the other "boombox"! Comment from : Todd Slater |
bThree-Week Update:/b Amazon now lists this boombox as "Unavailable," and they don't know when they'll get more in stock I think the importer owes VWestlife a big "Thank You," if not a spare AudioCrazy STEREO Cassette Boombox, for helping them sell out what was probably a year's worth of projected inventory! Maybe they could make the next batch *red* or *blue*?? Comment from : Lawrence H |
Sounds better than the $160 I am Rewind piece of trash Comment from : Jerry Spann |
When you record from bluetooth to a cassette would it catch any sound i made or would it only catch the music? Comment from : nikos0421 |

@VWestlifebrI wonder if there are any speakers that will fit in that unit that would be an upgrade you could easily make, with the existing mounting points? Comment from : watershed44 |

Picked up a decent Philips boombox from the ‘00s works fine, 20 quid obviously its stereo A new boombox is going to cost me at least double that and its likely to be mono Comment from : Dutch Beef |
Hope Techmoan has seen this video I know he stated he wasn’t going to review these cheap boomboxes anymore because he’d resigned himself to them all just being rubbish landfill This is actually a glimmer of hope! Comment from : Alex |
Wow, finally, someone is making a very decent cassette player Pair this with decent speakers and Bluetooth and you’ve got a very viable device Tbh, I can’t imagine many users would be that concerned about the lack of decent tape recording Comment from : Alex |
I want to see the review of the little mono red cassete radio that you showed at the end of the video! I love the details and the look inside! Comment from : vinil, o melhor presente ! |
15:33 Sure, I want to know whether it's a good choice for me Comment from : The County Sheriff (ACP) |
Man, that flywheel looks wobbly at 13:42 Kind of crazy that you get essentially the same mechanism in those 850 CAD Tascam 202mkvii decks but those have a proper erase head and digital controls Just goes to show it's all in the electronics now I guess Me? I prefer a well built used deck with not too many hours on it at a fraction of the cost but for a new mini radio, that one is pretty nice Would be interesting to see if putting in a NOS Mabuchi would have any impact Comment from : TapesNstuffS |
Sometimes I just watch VWestlife's audio equipment reviews just to find some catchy music to my playlist Comment from : M Sinsiwer |
This is my favorite form-factor, in my locale we used to call it a banana I even have a Sanyo M7770 boombox For $45 this is not bad at all, especially considering 01 W&F WRMS is not bad for a boombox, this is less than ±02 DIN The SD and USB sockets are eyesore, though Comment from : ConsumerDV |
I just don't see the need for these in 2023 Comment from : dennis neo |
Thanks for your review brAs always very informativebrCould you please share what unit do you use to measure speed, wow, and flutter ? Is it a stand alone unit or is it a software application on computer ? Also reference to the TEAC test tape please Much appreciated Comment from : Jedma Fazzini |
Remove guts
brSwap cases
br???
brProfit! Comment from : Curtis Webster |
This boombox has an uncanny resemblance to the Panasonic FM25 I reviewed quite some time ago Nice to see the USB/SD card playback feature too, even if it clashes with the retro style Comment from : stereophonicstuff |
I have a victrola mono boombox and even with headphones it’s in mono It’s not great but not horrible Comment from : wgrantha44 |
I think you should do a guts swap, Take everything out of the white model and put them in yellow one Comment from : Chris Sebes |
it's pretty high quality despite being a cheap boombox good thing i ordered it Comment from : BubExpress |
Love this I have a huge hitachi boom box from the 80s & would love to convert it to also play my usb music player as an option, don’t get me wrong I am still playing tapes & FM AM radio on it but to adapt a usb to run music from a external player would be good Anyone know how to do that ? 👍🏆 Comment from : Senna 1993 |
7:31 I came back beacuse I am drunk to find that slug bug song on YouTube 😆 Comment from : tan j maz maz |
It's nice to see they upgraded the design The original version was really cool looking, but really disappointing I want to get one of these upgraded ones I LOVE 80's boom boxes, but they're kind of expensive now I love it that the wow and flutter is as low as it is! Some tape players are absolutely horrible! This is actually pretty decent brbrI think I want to see if I can buy them on Alibaba and sell them with my own branding I'd like to see this with upgraded speakers, maybe some acoustic insulation, and a more discrete placement of the USB and SD card sockets Comment from : Benjamin Slayton |
It is much better than the mono decks, but that playback quality despite the rock solid wow and flutter is still abysmal My daily driver portable deck 23 years ago was a GPX piece of junk and it was way better It was no Nakamichi but it definitely held its own I'm pretty sure it was a C3028 model, as the front looked the same and it had no rewind button Comment from : Gazdatronik |
Good player, it would be great if add the 5-point led peak level meter on front panel Comment from : Lam KK |
I love the Audiocrazy logo with -- what is that, 3, 4 different font sizes? Comment from : AeroModule |
Is there any chance to buy one of these in Europe? Comment from : FrittFrall |
A simple portable means of playing your tapes and listening to the radio, this looks excellent value for the money Comment from : Christopher Rigby |
My question is if that is a newer release of "Bleach" and if it is, does it sound good I only bought three newly released cassettes, all with different results One pretty good, one was okay, and the other was complete rubbish Comment from : MrGhostown81 |
YES! Comment from : The_Rubbish_Bin |
Wow, nice to see that people who simply want an easy way to play their bought band merchandise now have an option that actually sounds pretty good and doesn't destroy the tape within a few plays People who want to record on tape probably go for a cassette deck anyway, so I'm not too worried the record function is not working very well I never thought I'd see the day again This might actually help people enjoy merchandise cassettes, which in turn will increase the demand for these better boomboxes Hopefully these mechanisms will find their way to the Crosley all in one systems too Here's hoping Comment from : Erwin Timmerman |
Ooohh playing some Gerry Rafferty Right down the line Comment from : Ann Frank |
good its stereo for the most part Comment from : EastAngliaUK |
I would like to see a full review of the radio and cassette mechanism shown at 15:29 Maybe you could also buy the other models Audiocrazy made and review those as well When it comes to the modern cassette players, I'm always curious to see what type of motors and mechanisms they use Comment from : The VCR King |
Please, by all means review the other one Comment from : Eric Ouellet |
Back in the early or mid 80's , I had a SHARP cassette AM/FM similar to these That little thing " CRANKED " ! Comment from : Dave Bruton |
Please do a full review of the one-speaker model you showed You have some of the greatest videos on this platform Comment from : John Wascavage |
1:58 - "Big Knob" 🤣brbrWon't lie, I giggled reading that Comment from : ms_enj |
Thank you very much for making this video I've had no luck getting a refurbished portable cassette player, so for the past year, I've been looking at new "boom boxes," and shows like yours help narrow the search Those googled "Top ten cassette player" lists generally push lousy gear Again thank you for reviewing these cassette players Comment from : Joe Newcomb |
I love seeing cassettes making a comeback, even if it’s a small comeback Comment from : DjDestinyChicago |
For an inexpensive portable device, I would consider the sound quality through its built-in speakers adequate But if you were so inclined, it should be easy to find better speakers of similar size and fit them to this device Comment from : xaenon |
