Couple people mentioning higher exhaust temps COULD mean the cooler is doing a better job dissipating heat The thing is, Sony removed a SIZABLE amount of the heatsink on this new model With fewer fins and smaller heatpipes it simply isn't as efficient at moving the heat out of the console brbrThink about it as if it were a PC If I remove a large CPU heatsink in favor of a smaller one the exhaust coming off my system would be hotter as the overall system temps are higher since the weaker cooler can't cope That's exactly what's going on here IMO

If Sony's employees were going to make the 1100B PS5's sink smaller than the 1015B PS5's heat sink, they might as well have gone right ahead & made a PS5 Slim model, instead of making another large model

correct me if im wrong but isnt it cooling better if its blowing more hot air out? for example it would be alarming if the fan was blowing out cold air that would tell me heat from the cpu is staying in Edit: but in this case the heatsink is smaller so i guess my observation is invalid? my observation would be logical if both heatsinks were same size?

I know you said there were less heatsinks None the less, more heat coming out the back usually means better heat dissipation Real-world testing and CPU thermals is really the only way to know if it's running hotter With that said, I am glad I have an older PS5 Lol Also, kudos to you for reading the comments Good way to connect with your subscribers :)

If you replace a large CPU heatsink with a smaller one and if the exhaust is hotter, it necessarily means heat is building up inside due to too little heat being taken out So the heat exhaust will keep getting hotter and hotter as the temperature inside the case rises That dosen't happen in PS5 though does it Logic?

I have one of these newer PS5’s and it stays in a fairly cold room as it has almost no heating and is very big/spacious I’m no expert but I’m sure that the lower room temperature would result in a lower temperature for the console But in any other environment I could see the lack of heat sink being an issue

Already got a ps5brLoading time great ps4 games play on the ps5 but lm not impressed with the smoothness of the graphics they have to setting resolution mode and Performance mode I cannot tell the difference and from the start xbox nearly in every category with betterbrI'm not desperate enough to go back to Xbox but I am waiting for the PlayStation Pro l hope it's alot better

If the new version is venting hotter doesn't that imply that it's possibly got better venting? ie both units generate the same quantity of heat but the new version kicks out more of the heat leading to a higher external reading and therefore cooler internals?
