Chipping is basically a putt with a higher lofted club Stand close to the ball & don’t use wrists The longer you want the ball to run out the less loft you use It’s never going to stop like a pitch, but unless you need to go over sand, water or trees a chip is a lower risk shot Comment from : Intentional Offside |

Chipping with an 8 or 9 iron is easier to direct and gauge speed and distance Nick Faldo is a big advocate for using a high iron to chip and run from the fringe because it works It's very hard to get distance right when you are dealing with lob height as well Don't let your pride get in the way of a better result Comment from : Steve Clowdsley |
