I don't understand how this is legal This is basically Facebook making their own currency to get around banking regulations, isn't it? I don't see why this should be legal just because they aren't physically coining money I think it may even be unconstitutional Article 1, Section 8, Clause 5 in the US Constitution grants Congress the power to "To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures," and they vested all that power in the Federal Reserve Why should we just allow a private company to create their own currency and use that instead of the US Dollar?
