The only real note-taking app, Obsidian I just wish it was a native application Yes the app is very nicely done, but I keep find some glitches and minor things that bother me, because of Electron I can’t imagine how nice it would have been if it was natively developed for macOS/iOS Comment from : DitchComfort |
What has happened with Nimbus Notes? I'm not seeing anybody talking about this one anymore, and it does have some great features on it Comment from : Clavdivs |

Would love a comparison, maybe spreadsheet, of note taking app possibilities (Although I know they are always adding!) For ex: platform compatibility, clipper, tagging, bidirectional links, integrations (ie Readwise), mind mapping like possibilities (ie Obsidian canvas), spaced repitition, AI tagging, daily notes (journal), block based, tasks and/or calendar integration, folders, mark up capabilities U’d live ti create this as a group!!!! Comment from : Deb Schiano |
Is there an all in one app that can handle notes, to-do lists (with filtering/tags), and a calendar integration? I hate having to use a couple different ones I'd love one app for everything! Any recommendations, if any? Comment from : Michael Henein |

Thank you Francesco When you talk about an app please consider localization Notion for example works with US date and numbers, so dates are month/day and numbers have comma for thousands and dot for decimals Definitely annoying to handle and can induce errors! A no go if you need it for work Comment from : Andrea M |
You did not list Onenote? You are a HATER Franchiscoh Comment from : Dave1854 |
I tried all the apps here available on Windows and currently using Notion and Obsidian Comment from : Arvenus |

Why is upnote not here? Comment from : Anudeep Sharma |
Most of these note taking apps are just way too expensive in terms of what functionality and security level they offer For me cross platform support is a must I can't believe that some app developers still don't offer that in the year 2023!!! Comment from : CrazyDriverSwed |
Agenda notes looks interesting But for now, upnote is the best all around Comment from : Tanim |
I use obsidian, feel like it is the one with the biggest amount of customizability, lots of plugins Clover looks awesome for my usage, but what about that price 10 dollars for non-american users is a lot Comment from : Arthur Antonio |

You show apps like google notes etc but you ignored Roam (seems intentionally) this is so silly from you brI think Roam is still better than majority of apps u shown here Comment from : Mehboob Elahi |
I would love to have some info on the security in these videos have quite sensitive info on my note so it's one of the most important criteria for me Comment from : Lore Raymond |
I cannot believe you can make a list of most relevant note-taking apps in 2023, and not mention ONENOTE🤣 I follow you since ever, but I need to trust you when you show other kind of apps that are new to me In the case of note-taking field, one thing I know is that you should include ONENOTE in the any list you include Evernote and Google Keep (Google keep, please Francesco, let's be serious🤣) Comment from : Junior InfanteC |
You should try to optimize the voice quality Comment from : Bart van der Horst |
I found Anne-Laure Le Cunff's distinction of Architect / Gardener / Librarian (and Tiago Forte's addition of Student) to be a great way to understand one's own note-taking style and thus how to choose a good notetaking app I would love to see Tool Finder (with permission?) use these different user distinctions as a way to categorize/filter all its productivity apps I think it would make finding the right apps for a specific user much easier Once I learned this distinction I immediately understood why my wife, for example, would never do well using the same apps that I would choose for myself, and it made me much better at helping her choose apps that were right for her Comment from : mediawolf |
What about confluence? Comment from : Cameron Wasilewsky |
I love the CRAFT app ❤ - it has all needed built in & hence it works very smoothly - offline feature, backlinking, calender, journal , handling multiple workspaces is so easy unlike other apps and the app is so colourful & looks very beautiful brSince i have my apple echosystem - macbook, ipad, iphone it works well for me and i am using it for my study note taking as wellbrI dont know about windows users, but apple echosystem it works very well Comment from : Ramesh Kumar |
Onenote Comment from : sdnnvs |
DEVONthink combines note taking with webclipping articles, literature from your citation manager, RSS feeds, and image, audio, and video files Note templates speed up capture and RSS enables a read-it-later experience Instead of PKM terminology it can be considered a personal reference library suited to academics, professionals, and content creators The search, note linking, and mind mapping make it like a personal library assistant as well Comment from : Gene Fifer |
I agree with most of these I’m a bit biased given my channels are a sponsor of @remnote, but I really think that while it is the perfect app for students, it can be used in other applications as well The new mobile app and ability to add quick sticky notes makes it usable in other applications too Comment from : Noah Langbo |
Nice overview It is really a commentary on the vast extent of options in the note-taking realm that even a list this long leaves off many viable alternatives You didn't mention Scrintal or Heptabase You mentioned Walling, but didn't list them You didn't mention xTiles, Capacities or Upnote And my the app I use on a daily basis, Legend Comment from : Stephen Zeoli |
I have tested many of these apps in 2022 and in the end I always return to Evernote or OneNote for my daily work OneNote and Google keep are the only multi language app and can be used with languages which are written from right to left Comment from : Isaac Ogdan |
Great video! So, since you asked: I use Coda and Dynalist Cheers! :) Comment from : francois |
I'm using Mem as a file cabinet as it's easy to get clip info from email, web, and Twitter Mem X makes it very easy to find relevant info as well, but the editor is quite bare-bones, and overall, the UX is kind of a mess I understand they put all their effort into AI, but it's difficult to use it as the main PKM drive For that, I'm using Heptabase, an infinite canvas note app The development pace is super fast, and the founder is really listening to the community Comment from : Nicolas |
Waiting for top calender app of 2023 video🙌✌🏻🥳 Comment from : Tim James |
How about UpNote ? Light in the usage, solid interface, and really well structured) Comment from : Ivan Tomych |

OneNote?? Is Microsoft a dead company with no relevance in 2023? Not sure if this was spnsored by Hypernotes but Hypernotes only started in 2021 and you provided the longest segment OneNote has been around in 2002 A little disappointing you did not have give a simple shout that OneNote has been around 21 years Comment from : Robert Kowton |
Tana? Comment from : Jacob Jarnvall |
