@elisabasta
I willing to bet something on this reciclying old content thing is more damaging for a channel than worth it Sources? I don't have any, but YT just constanstly displays the original date of publishing next to each video, so pretty much every viewer with the ability to read past three words can tell and it's just weird
Comment from : @elisabasta

@a_l_e_k_sandra
Did you just change the title and thumbnail from '23 to '24? 😂

@MultiMrNoone
How about a garden on a bit of a slope? I have a nice sunny spot, but its a gentle slope My wife thinks I'm crazy, but I have a feeling the slope will add to drainage nicely, and we get a lot of moisture here

@BigJohn505
Quick Question on the path material Last year I laid down weed barrier and used mulch for my walkways I live in New Mexico, at about 6k feet After a few months and some rain, the mulch started growing mushrooms and my dog ended up eating some of them and was poisoned He is still on medication trying to recover from the incident Do you have any recommendations on how to kill the spores in the mulch other than using harsh chemicals? My wife wants me to rip out all the mulch this year and I am looking for alternative ideas Thanks!
Comment from : @BigJohn505

@darlenebradley6756
I am focusing my garden on kitchen staples such as tomatoes, potatoes, beans, peppers, pumpkins and other easily preserved vegetables and/or herbs that will lend themselves to canning or dehydrating I'm also planning a few fun things that just look interesting, like bird house gourds and some seasonal treats such as melons and popcornbrbrI watched the video on money saver crops I have not had much success with any of the squash that you featured (except the pumpkins) as powdery mildew was a real problem I do plan on having a small number of those this year, and experimenting with 'organic' vs 'enviro-nazi' methods of managing the problem, as well as trying some resistent hybrid cultivars (however, I prefer heirloom varieties so I can save the seed) LOL! brbrI will be testing a 'natural' milk based spray vs a copper sulfate approach and see which one is better I have found that -- generally speaking -- so-called organic products end up being two or three times as expensive, and half as effective as the much maligned 'chemical' alternatives (Never mind that EVERYTHING can be broken down into it's chemical parts, and there are some very 'natural', 'organic' things in nature that are quite toxicbut I digress)brbrI love your channel and passion! And thank you for mentioning the pollinators! I am also a hobbyist bee keeper (I think the fancy term is apiarist) So many people blame chemicals for the demise of our bee populations (and that is partially true) but, even more so, it is a problem of habitat and available forage Our bees are starving and have no place to live as land is cleared of 'weeds' and trees So, plant those flowers or we humans may also starve! Without the pollinators there is no food!

@JulieKennedy-po7ly
This summer (Western Australia) is my first attempt at growing vegetables I'm really happy with my prolific production of cucumbers and zucchinis, lettuce and snow peas (at $30/kg in the shops this summer I should have planted more snow peas!) The capsicum's are also now developing I watched many of your videos and read through a vegetable growing book before starting my raised vegetable beds What I would like to see is a video on how to plant out from store bought seedlings I decided this might be easier and more successful than seeds for my first attempt and dutifully followed the instructions on the labels While this has been largely successful, my failure is the carrots and brown onions I appear to have clumps of onions and tangled up carrots despite planting each seedling (6-8 per pack) the required distance apart I now believe instructions should have included something about thinning them? Or should I have separated each ''seedling'' into multiple individual plants? Is it too late to rescue any brown onions (they are now about 1-2cm each but in clumps of about 10 growing together) or is this just a lesson for a novice vegetable grower? At least our rabbits will enjoy the carrot greens! I'd include some photos for you to have a laugh if the comments section permitted it!

I have used your garden planner for over two years now and it has been extremely beneficial in so many ways Do you ever have plans of making a mobile app that would allow that access on a cell phone as well as a computer? It’s already a great product, but that would take it to a whole different level!
Comment from : @austinlivingston8472

@funwithfish1507
It’s probably a bit late for asking, but i will anyways brAfter finally acquiring our allotment key, about a week ago, it was far too late to plant any sets However, since we need to cultivate at least 1/3 of the allotment in under three months, we planted some mixed tulip bulbs, and three varieties of potato (Epicure, Maris Piper and Pink Fir Apple), hoping that they wouldn’t be destroyed by rain or frost We will be unable to tend to the allotment until the end or march, so are there any more crops we could sow or plant now? Thanks for the videos Ben

2023 is unfortunately not a gardening year for me, the landlord is going to insulate the roof so my only outdoor space which is the balcony is going to be used for scaffolding, and i don't know what part of the year yet my parents will take care of the perrenials, and after they are done i'm planning to get/make better planters to make use of the space better luckily i have an architect uncle who told me that my balcony won't collapse unless i use planters i can't even reach the top of so i can just make whatever planters i want

@TheGDChap
I have two plots of 9ft wide to 2ft deep on the verge of the back garden One is protected by a conservatory, the other at the far end of the garden gets the most amount of sun, even with it being north facing So not a huge amount of room and not ideal placement and yet just with a little planning last year I had a bumper harvest and this year I have 10 main crops to grow outside, as well as the regular tomatoes, aubergines (first time) inside the conservatory and plenty of flowers in and amongst the plots First time using a propogator station and a cold frame which should be interesting to see the result of them bothbrThis will be the first year I am doing everything from seed as well so its going to be an exciting year, even if some of it fails, its worth a go regardless I cannot stress enough how joyful it feels to conceptualise the garden of your dreams (and budget/time) and nurture it along to enjoy!brThank you for all that you do Ben, you certainly inspire this budding gardener!
Comment from : @TheGDChap

@onionring1531
I'm going to need to plan out paths next season as I currently essentially have a food forest but with annual cropsbrI'm now certain any productivity I might lose to the paths will be made up for by more easily keeping on top of the weeds

Ben, your garden is always so inspiringbrI love the garden planner - I'm in elevated beds so don't use it as fully as some might, but I do enjoy having the rotation, companion, and square foot information for easy reference as well as the plant tabulator Well worth the cost even for the little bit I use it

I love the planner and have used it now for the last 6 years It really helps to make the most of the space in my allotment Also it's improving all the time and becoming more intuitive It could do with a few more flower varieties in it as I just have to use ones that look similar and change the name labels!!
