How is the water level assessed? Float sensor, timer, etc How is the frozen state of the ice assessed? Simple timer or timer modified by measured temperature? Are the cubes released by mechanical means or is momentary heat applied to release the cubes? Oh well, maybe you can keep feeding the DIY parts cannon for a few more years

HOW does the ice maker know the ice is frozen You said it detects it But unless we knw how it detects it we can't tell how to troubleshoot Mine is full of ice but takes HOURS to discharge it into the bucket so I assume something is wrong with its detection

The ice maker makes ice once in awhile Lowest temp I've seen is 30° and only the lowest coil on the evaporator is frosted over, but still managed to make ice a couple days ago (hasn't made ice since)

I get water out of the water dispenser but no water to the ice makerif it gives me water to the water dispenser in the refrigerator door but not coming out of the tube to fill the ice maker can I assume the water valve is working? Anyone? Thanks
