A lot of work went into that machine and hours of fixing! Sounded ok but still had a lot of Wow & Flutter after the fix? Did you ever get it to play better? I hope so!

Hi I have a sharp QT90 1983 and I m stock with a small problem , on recording deck when I play cassette sont not loud , for full volume its hardly to hear, I change belts and roller , recording perfect but when you play no sound, what happens, pleas help

How did you fix the wobbly sound? I put new belts in my general electric boom box cassette recorder and it still makes an ugly sound with the music, a really bad wobbly sound

Hi, can anyone help me out here? I found my old Sharp GF 9292, but after switching the fuses in the plug, I found only the radio function was working as well as one speaker not making much noise (although a little) also the cassette tape wouldn’t turn/play? It is old, but is it worth me taking the back off and fiddling around, are there specialists that can fix it, or should I just keep it as is?

Very thorough! I just changed the belt on my Sanyo m9902 But I borked the radio tensioner and and couldn't remember how it was originally strung Always take lots of pictures when you start to disassemble old electronics!

Hi I just bought a Panasonic RX-5010 and the seller said that the tape counter doesn’t work Do you know any way to fix it? I just watched your video, when you took the boombox apart it looks to me like a belt drives the tape counter directly from the cassette deck was this common from all manufacturers? I’m going to assume like many other tape driven machines from the time I would have to replace that along with the other belts

Another excellent job Ted Those Sanyo decks tend to have a fair amount of wow&flutter The only way to make'em sound as good as possible Is the installation of a new pinch roller As well as the correct belts The main belt for that unit is an SCQ 100 and the tape counter belt is a SCY 70 Sometimes those variety belt packs just don't have the correct size belt in them However you did a great job with what you had!👍👍
