You need more subs! I just found you on the notching video and you're the most realistic plant parent I've found! brI use well water simply BC of budget but it is tested and safe for human consumption and I drink it everyday, so do my pets including the birds I'm hoping it's ok for my calathea and my alocasia, it's been good for my other plants for years Comment from : Marisa |

I ordered a dottie from a mail order it was so wet water was leaking out of the box ive had a couple weeks and repoted 6times the leaves are droopy all the time the roots are black next stop is the trash can what do you think Comment from : Cathy Spooner |
Should we always wait one year before repotting? even the soil it comes with seems totally wrong for it? It looks like standard potting soil without any pumice or perlite or any drainage I was thinking of repotting into the same pot just to change the soil… Comment from : D mmm |

I know you made this video on the prayer plants a year ago - BUT - someone gave me a prayer plant, recently Do you think I can check the moisture of the plant by using a moisture meter?? Comment from : Marlene K |

Hi Drea! I love coming back to this video if I come across anything I might need for my calatheas, your care tips and info have been on point 😊 I do have a question though, my Orbifolia is blooming for the first time I’m so happy! While I usually fertilize when I have new growth coming in which I have three new leaves, I’ve heard for some plants not to fertilize when its blooming? Have you dealt with this, does it harm the plant ? Comment from : Andrea Wagner |
Certainly the best video on YouTube which talks about the calatheasbrI have one questionbrCan we use the waste water coming out RO water purifier machine for calatheas? Comment from : Breathe in green 💚 |
I started using drops for aquarium that make the water safe It's helped a lot! I only have one calathea but I also use that water on my spiderplants Really saw a difference in those pesky brown tips there! Comment from : Cindy Wannamaker |
Love this video, thank you! brbrPlants also grow really well with aquarium water It's fertilized, and is dechlorinated If you don't have aquariums, getting something to dechlorinate the water in an aquarium can also be used for watering plants:) Comment from : Tori Mousseau |

I also talk about my plants a lot😂 I Only one of my friends is into plants and she's new to growing plants She's getting very frustrated because she keeps getting gnats for some reason But she's the only one I can actually talk to about plants Comment from : Laura Thunder |
I love my calatheas! They’re my obsession! My favorite is my Freddie (don’t tell the rest of my plants I said that…they might get jealous) What is the name of the one sitting in front of your Ctenanthe behind you? Comment from : Bethany Mayahi |
I love calathea and marantas I have a few of them, and I am having problems with them keeping their back leaf color all of them are bunched together in a low light situation and all of them are losing their purple coloring anybody got any info on what I'm doing wrong 🤔 Comment from : Chelia Jones |
My rattlesnake plant’s leaves are all brown on the edges Should I cut it right back to the base I use filtered water etc but the😢 leaves still turned crispy Please help! Comment from : Suzanne Wagner |
I moved my 15 inch pot Maranta into a 3 inch terracotta I can now see it's two vines in there and since moving it to slightly larger it's started to pray how it should and I've been getting 3 new leaves a week I do have to water every couple of days but that's because it's terracotta and it's tiny, i would guess a full watering really only holds like a tablespoon (what doesn't come out the bottom) It seems happy though and so far haven't lost any leaves I won't check on roots etc until the plant starts to act funny or if i start to look a lot of leaves Now that i know it didn't pray, at all, in the too small pot that's a good sign for me to look for I wouldn't say it was "root bound" in the traditional sense but those tiny pots simply don't have much room! brbrI can't believe you're monstera was this small a year ago It's huge now, and i thought it was big a year ago 🤣🤣🤣 Comment from : Marisa |
You're the first video talking about stunt growth and small leaves in maranta's, which I think a lot of care videos/posts don't cover, even though I see many people asking about them on reddit quite often Thanks! Comment from : sachi |
This is my first time here and I love your channel! You've given me some very valuable information on my prayer plants Im a never prayer plant parents and im determine to give them the best life possible! So far so good❤ Comment from : Diane Wilson |

You are so full of knowledge I love your videos I just saved all of the videos you pinned below and it’s going to be an aloha plant kind of day Btw, my orbafolia is doing amazing in my bedroom (not my plant room) and I don’t have a humidifier in there I have a bit of crispy edges and for sure it’s because I under-watered it a few time She my favourite and so so showy It’s I a east window and thriving Comment from : Plants and spreadsheets |

We typically wipe down our plants at least once or twice a month A damp microfiber cloth works great or taking a lint roller and using that on the fronts and reverse sides of the plants with bigger leaves Plus, doing this will pick the dust and any tiny little critters Comment from : Scott Galbreath |
It's funny this video pops up My wife Mom over watered her Rattle Snake Calethea while we were out of town for a few days, and the plant honestly looked so sad when we got home She wanted to toss the plant out, and I took it upon myself to rescue it, and it came back, but mind you, it took a good 8 months We also uppotted it, and it's doing quite well I will admit that these plants can be a bit dramatic and / or fussy but once you figure it out, they're awesome plants Our Maranta Plants stay in our upper level on a north facing window sill, and our Ctenanthe lives in our bathroom, which has a skylight and a frosted window Soon, I want to take some cuttings and grow those and resell them Comment from : Scott Galbreath |
I personally love that you mention and add links to relevant videos! It lets me know that you have it so I can watch it next! As a fairly new obsessed plant parent, I’ve ran into watering issues, pests, and diseases You have a way of explaining and visually showing us what to look for, differences, and solutions better than any other videos that I’ve found so far! THANK YOU! My triostar stromanthe just got out of quarantine from spider mites! And my rattle snake has been down to 5 leaves for 6 months now BUT he has just started pushing ups new one!! I’m glad I didn’t give up on him!! Comment from : Layla Barcus |

Yes, sorry, it is annoying It’s my first time watching one of your videos and I allready feel like I need to start the drinking game It’s nice you have all that extra information but it’s enough to mention that once or twice We will see if you link more anyway To mention it like every other minute just interupts the flow and it feels like a never ending shameless plug Comment from : Mino |
whats your opinion on using tap water conditioner used for aquarium water? I’ve heard that can be used to remove chlorine from tap water Comment from : Ariana Cavanaugh |

I don’t usually leave comments I have watched hours of videos on Calatheas trying to keep mine, especially that Orbifolia! I commend you on this video! It is the BEST and most comprehensive video on this subject I have watched You information on watering and humidity was SO on point! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Comment from : Carolyn Summerset |
My fav Calatheas are Rattlesnakes I had one rattlesnake and peacock and those have rotted on me So i bought two more rattlesnakes I wanted to put them together to make one big plant🪴 Simce they tend to have a mind of its own, should keep them separate since they tend to pray? I feel like the root system is for that single plant Comment from : Very KinkyCurl ITMest1987 |
Thanks for this video I believe I knew most of what you were chatting about, however I don't have as many of the various genuses as you The tried rattlesnake, it died My Calathea Orbifolia is doing well, except for the crisping leaves I have it on a pebble tray, but I am going to see if there is something funky going on with the soil The one thing I feel you didn't mention is moving I feel like they don't like being moved Once you find a "happy" spot for them, leave them alone You can always boil your water, instead of buying distilled water I am trying again with the Maranta I am praying it doesn't die 🙏🏽wish me luck Comment from : Anita Jones |
Is there a such as "Low Light" Prayer Plants? Because in different seasons such as Winter, you may not get much Sunlight Comment from : Life Path Journey |

They are absolutely beautiful 😍brCalathea are my absolute favorite Nothing can beat them when it comes to beauty and foliage Though they are little finicky and they don't love me that much 🙃😁 But I'm learning gradually how to keep them happybrThanks for sharing Really appreciate it Comment from : viren1929 |

I have a setosa It was doing great for a while but now I think it’s diseased It has white salty film on it, mainly the under side I say that because it’s gritty The underside is sticky too It continues to grow but now the stems are so weak they end up folding I’m not sure what to do Comment from : David Halley |
As a new plant parent, the first two plants I was drawn to after seeing them online were Ficus elastica ‘Tineke’ and Stromanthe tricolor I’ve done really well with the Ficus, but I got a very sad-looking Stromanthe from a big box store and I’m not sure if I’m improved things for it or not I guess time will tell Comment from : ryansmith83 |
Congrats on the plant returning from the dead like Lazarus! Now if that doesn’t give us plant parents hope, I don’t know WHAT will! Comment from : shimmy2708 |
