I'm using Linux Mint and honestly I saw like no difference between windows and linux Actually, with the same settings, Minecraft runs a little bit smoother on windows, like a difference of 10 fps(40-50 on linux, 50-60 on windows)

Hey man, i would recommend you to test this again but with an Arch based distro! Almost every arch based distro is more lightweight than Debian based ones I recommend you to test Artix because first of all it doesent use SoystumD the init system behind ubuntu and basically every other distro Artix uses OpenRC its way more lighweight

Bruh, the main Ubuntu version is one of the worst distros for low end PCs because it comes with latest GNOME desktop environment AND Canonical's commercial bloatware It IS lighter than Windows, but it is definitely not light by Linux standards If you want a light variant of Ubuntu, pick either Xubuntu (Which is just Ubuntu with XFCE environment) or even lighter is Lubuntu (LXQT environment) and notice the performance boost

please try Lubuntu, Arch Linux, Zorin OS and NimbleX these are some of the best low end Linux OSs, i hope you make a comparison at the end of the video on the best os untill you find the best for Minecraft fps this is more content on the same $250 pc also if you try it on the dell laptop I'll be thankful!bryou can also try Elementary OS which is light but have better look which take little more recourses than the others above

If you’re dead set on Linux, Lubuntu is a light version of Ubuntu which might be better for thisbrI saw some other comments and I think what you might want the most here instead is actually Linux Mint I’ve used it and it gets me like double the FPS on my gaming rig which is pretty impressive, so I have that as an option to boot from with the other option being Windows 11 I hate both of them lol but they seem to be the best for what I do other than MacOS 1014

Ubuntu used to be a great distro until Canonical (the company behind Ubuntu) started to prioritise money over performance This caused them to bloat their system and collect your data GNOME is also meant for higher end PCs, but will work on low end ones I would say Linux Mint is the best for low end PCs because it has all the advantages of Ubuntu, without its disadvantages It's also really user-friendly and comes with an Xfce desktop, which is the best for low end PCs Great video and keep the good work up :)
