becuase the packs are heavily coded but the harder they try the more it renders the more it renders more stuff in data to lag your game

it depends on the texture pack i used to create texture packs, and the default texture pack has a lot of useless stuff that can get you lower fps, a normal 16x pack shouls boost you fps

depends on the pack and the resolution 16x packs with no particles or any effects would be smoother

ye but only in certain situation for example a pack may not have particles and when your supposed to be seing particles you will not so you have higher fps
