Awesome tips man! Really helpful even for experienced artists, especially those who have learnt on their own and may have missed some of these (like me) Tip 1 will be super useful for me, as I have always used supporting edge loops on corners like that, never even thought of fixing it like you did Although it does mean some vertices have five connecting edges, but for this case its worth it I also wondered if you could use the loop tools addon for tip 4 to make the cylinder inside the sphere? I discovered that addon not too long ago, and its amazing Keep up the good work!

Great video and tips However I don't understand why most 3d artists always try to go with quads instead of triangles in every situation There are situations when triangles are fine but still adding more topology and making it more expensive for the renderer is way to go for most of the artists It doesn't matter that much in movies as it does in games tho

What I am still having a hard time wrapping my head around doing retopo is Sphere drones with those damn door cut aways Do you have any advice for those types of situations? Mine end up looking horrid with the complex mesh Most of these topology I use Meshmachin3 which has saved me tons of time doing all those extra steps your doing in the video, love that addon

why you add this many unnecessary polygons 5:00 I know that im little extreme wean make my own model and i remove all the unsery polygon i find for my model because most off my 3D models made for video game but even if you make thos for somatics you still able to many off thos polygons and the model i will look exactly the same

One tip additional tip that would be good to show is how to do shallow seams on a surface The kind that follow the curvature of a surface but don't touch the surface boundary These are often necessary for doing panels on space ships, robots, futuristic armour, etc

You know, if you want to cut a cylinder into a sphere, you could just ROTATE the sphere over in the direction of the cylinder and utilize it's existing round geometry Cutting a hole in the side like that is just dumb

Well, i must say, this tips will come handy At least one of them already solved one of my thought problems already 😁 (the uv-sphere top and bottom centers when shadding) Gonna start using subdivided cubes or icospheres now And somehow now it makes sense why i see people usually using a subdivided cube instead of a uv-sphere on tutorials🤔
