So I sewed some lettuce seeds in 3 rows in a plastic grocery store donut box They're ALL coming up Any hints on how to thin out lettuce seedlings without hurting their "neighbors"?? I learned I can use those great containers from Christmas gifts such as wine and cheese packages I always think I should use them for something I have always wanted to try using a grow light I also learned that they don't need more than 3 hrs of sunlight to start Thanks so much for helping everyone with learning how to grow

I'm kind of a perfectionist when it comes to starting a garden project and I feel like I need to have the exact right containers and they need to match I learned that a great way to get started is to just use whatever containers you have on hand and drilling holes on the bottom yourself is an easy option

I've used the plastic containers that greens come in from the grocery store to grow my own greens I never considered using the small smartpot, that's a wonderful idea! I definitely need a good grow light in my house , that one from Gardeners is so beautiful! Having that would make my winter go so much better

I learned a few things I never realized that potting mix for indoor and outdoor does make a difference when growing you’re plants I have used indoor potting mix in my outdoor beds before and never understood why I had lousy outcomes And that goes vise versa Like many others here I also never knew that lettuce seeds don’t need to be covered that they grow best from the direct sunlight Also that they germinate so fast! 3-5 days sounds like a great easy beginner plant
