I'm in Chandler, Az zone 9B I've got a "sort of" plan for the front yard garden It is more of a walking food garden with paths covered in wood chips to grow the soil and save water in our desert environment I say "sort of" because I've still got a lot of work to do to remove rock and create burms near the sidewalk to keep any rainwater run off in our yard I look forward to the front yard garden to be able to interact with the neighbors Your front yard garden is so inspiring! I watched the video and love the continuity of design and color The black acts as a frame for all of the color in the garden It's perfect! Thank you for the tour!brPS I'm curious to know if you've inspired any neighbors to plant out their front yards for food I would love to start a food growing revolution in our neighborhood!

Love your trellis area If you want any corn harvest, remember that corn is a heavy feeder It needs lots of nitrogen Corn also does best when planted in square blocks for better pollination

I live in an urban area too, though the sun hits my backyard, my neighbors are close and there's only a chain link fence between us so I was very mindful to build a garden and trellis system that looked tailored, organized and not lower the value of their homes by making a messy garden I have black painted raised beds as well and my trellis follow both fences to create beautiful 8f tall green walls I did build a nice 8x10 greenhouse, a smaller 4x6 one for tomatoes (it's very humid here and blithe was a problem so I settled for cramming 9 tomato plants in one small greenhouse) My main greenhouse has 2 shelves for seedlings and microgreens and E shaped raised beds with trellises in the back for winter peas/ summer greenhouse cucumbers I built a simplified pergola over my deck for grapes and scrarlet runner beans, it's like a cocoon of greens and flowers I grow 50f of sweet peas, we never seem to have enough I know this was a year ago but I can't imagine life without my greenhouse I'd totally add a greenhouse I did squeeze in 4 fruit trees across the yard, apricots and cherries are so popular with the kids This year I'm removing my strawberries from the raised beds, we lost so many to moldiness and pest That's why they grow them on hills with garden fabrics on farms, they rot on the flat soil I decided to move them to a grow tower so the fruit wouldn't sit on the soil You have a beautiful garden, wish more people would build and invest in growing food and landscaping with edible plants

This is my first time watching your videos so I don't know what zone you are in, but I would suggest building a greenhouse with that last it of space if you have cold weather We are in zone 7 and every year I wish I had a green house in the winter Our winters are pretty mild compared to most but I'm always kicking myself at not having salad greens or potted tomatoes when its too cold for them Yes, I could grow some inside with all light which I have done but without that natural sunlight they stunt easily and I swear they don't taste the same

For your open bed you should put blue dwarf kale!! The plants I have are on their second year and haven't bolted yet!! They have came in handy even after harvest they last like a month in the fridge for fresh eating!!❤🌿

I've thought about doing this since my front yard would be a great area but I was hesitant to do so It's fairly large and received full sun morning to early afternoon If I do I will be using containers and grow bags I'll make trellises for certain vegetables This would be more doable for me at my age Thank you for sharing
