for the first strenght test with the biscuit, didnt it just test the strenth of the glue? dont htink the biscuit would offer any support in that orientation

As far as using wooden furniture from your parents or grandparents? My mom has MANY pieces she inherited from her parents and grandparents (who were woodworkers), and I look forward to inheriting them myself, one day Well-made, solid wood furniture is good quality stuff, and CAN last for generations Do I have some IKEA furniture pieces? Yes Apartment living and cost-consciousness can limit a person, when starting out But I also know that those heirloom pieces exist, and while I wish my parents long and healthy lives, I also know that that furniture will have a new home, some day, and hopefully a new home the generation after that Don't discount heirloom furniture out of hand! Not every piece is destined to be a generational piece, but a well-crafted item can potentially be a treasure for more than just a couple of years Particle board flat-pack furniture is definitely going to end up filling in a landfill after a short lifespan; it doesn't have to be that way Just saying

All very interesting I’m a kitchen fitter and when installing compact laminate we use biscuits with two part glue Not had any issues with the process

Good video You didn’t define how you diagram worked… Ie in which direction your axes increase in value (eg is greater time at the top or bottom of the diagram) However, whatever definition you take it’s inconsistent with your actual results I don’t think even you were clear how your diagram worked! Look back at it critically and you will see what I mean,

Wow! I got a biscuit joiner when Norm was on the tube impressing folks with his jigs and tools I also have probably the second jankyiest dowel jig know to man I've had it 30 yrs and never used it I have a pocket screw thingy and it does a good for what it is I will never get a domino cutter unless the patent runs out and folks start making affordable ones

Any joint under stress using biscuits would be made with two biscuits, so comparing your domino joint to a single biscuit is a false comparison The fact that you state you would only use one biscuit shows that you don't really under stand how biscuit joints should be used

Pocket screw holes can be easily concealed by a dowl and a pull saw Unless it is stain grade

Your testing device seems like it was designed to favor Domino's and dowels Why would a face frame ever experience the kind of force you're your exerting in the direction you're exerting it? It looked like the biscuit held up fine Of course something made of metal that's 2 or 3 times longer in length will be stronger To be a fair test all the material should be the same length
