No its would be too expensive plus it gives UK ship makers carrier buiding experience and allows the navy to develop the infrastructure for its own carriers
Comment from : Dapper Raccoon69

unacceptable views tazkforcealpha
Its interesting why brits stay with the jump-catapult system and chose f-35 B for their completely new aircraft carrier instead of going for traditional system
Comment from : unacceptable views tazkforcealpha

K F
What are the ‚unique needs‘?
Comment from : K F

K F
I‘m not the biggest STOVL fan, they should have built a Charles de Gaulle carrier the size of QE Originally Charles de Gaulle was supposed to be bigger but various difficulties like cost, facilities to build it, and the usual political bickering, have made it what it is now, excellent after all And adjusted for its age, arguably better than the QE for a mid-range power like the UK and France

Siamese Stormtrooper
Ewww ramps how ghetto

Beisht Kione
As a former Navy Nuke, giving them the Entreprise would be like selling your friend a kick in their balls
Comment from : Beisht Kione

Beisht Kione
Non American carriers are a joke The USS Enterprise however, was also a joke Adm Rickover's joke
Comment from : Beisht Kione

patdbean
Ño, the enterprise is only ONE ship, when it is/was in refit , the UK would have NO carriers
Comment from : patdbean

Heart Of Darkness
Only an American could seriously ask if the British might have been better buying the US Navy's banged up old pile of junk instead of building their own modern carrier Wtf?
Comment from : Heart Of Darkness

Popeye
650 reasons why
Comment from : Popeye

Charles Migneault
I think the Queen Elizabeth class is a more modern carrier than Entreprise Maintenance on an old ship such as Entreprise would have been extremely costly and unreliable The British are way better of with their own Carrier
Comment from : Charles Migneault

Gerald Ivan
😊 NOT FOR BRITAIN'S NAVY 😊
Comment from : Gerald Ivan

Rick Sadler
Big E was 50 years old that’s alot for a salt water ship when retired though I’d love to see her a museum someday,
Comment from : Rick Sadler

domm 96
The navy just need more money but we are small and dont have the money to have a masive navy
Comment from : domm 96

Jarvis Brown
Different needs different requirements
Comment from : Jarvis Brown

TheGunningRunner
I believe our allies are better off investing in their own industries because instead of being entirely dependent on US The British building their own Carrier gave their engineers the experience they need to develop more carriers in the future And as long as they keep building their ships in England, their workforce will continue gaining experience brbrThats a key factor to winning wars Not just having the equipment to fight it but the knowledge to build the equipment
Comment from : TheGunningRunner

Sparky
One reason they didn’t go nuclear with the carrier is some countries won’t allow nuclear vessels in their ports and territories The RN have nuclear subs but they serve a different purpose than the carriers so not the same concern
Comment from : Sparky

Kumar Andisamy
British tech is always unique
Comment from : Kumar Andisamy

Cole Karrh
Yes and no
Comment from : Cole Karrh

Arshdeep Singh
Royal Navy is now useless XD
Comment from : Arshdeep Singh

bill ballbuster
The QE is better for the Royal Navy requirement, but already many are saying the CATOBAR and F-35C would have been a better option
Comment from : bill ballbuster

Glastonbury
The QE class of aircraft carriers are great and built in the UK, the big E was a great ship, but past its day now for a blue water navy, plus I don't see anyone rushing to buy it!!
Comment from : Glastonbury

visible to anyone on YouTube
Great Britain's royal navy will always rule the waves rule britannia 💪🇬🇧
Comment from : visible to anyone on YouTube

Lawrence Ralph
It spent billions in English salaries
Comment from : Lawrence Ralph

Comment from : Tom Flendodo

Donald McTrump
That little ramp is cute
Comment from : Donald McTrump

CZseventyfive
As an American, the Royal Navy choose the right decision to develop their own carrier It continues to support local defense industry and maintains domestic independence US nuclear-powered carriers are expensive and even more so to operate The Big E is an old design which mean even more maintenance and operational costs
Comment from : CZseventyfive

Thurman Mayo
You kind of ignored the elephant in the room Enterprise was launched in 1960! Would you buy a 60 year old Manhattan taxi? The old girl had a LOT of miles on her
Comment from : Thurman Mayo

Jack Rembold
If it would have been practical for CVN 65 Enterprise to remain in service, it would still be in service The QE class carriers were designed by the Brits to fit their needs and budget CVN 65 would have met neither for them
Comment from : Jack Rembold

Agustin Gonzalez
Besides, everything on the Enterprise is written in American English The switch could be dangerous
Comment from : Agustin Gonzalez

Freedom for all
Uss enterprise was a 50 year old rust bucket Americans serving on the Elizabeth class said the ship was way ahead of any carrier America had
Comment from : Freedom for all

survivalSC
I don’t think we sell our carriers If we were going to buy all means, England can buy one, but I don’t think we sell them to anybody you have to develop your own
Comment from : survivalSC

Nathan Parry
No As fantastic a ship as she was, the enterprise was knackered She'd served the US faithfully for a long time but she was worn out and done
Comment from : Nathan Parry

Eric Ellert
They couldnt afford the upkeep
Comment from : Eric Ellert

Lewis
This is a truly ridiculous video, the QE carriers are far far superier in technology, far safer and more modern Yeah the enterprise holds more aircraft but in reality that is so irrelevant when were talking about 5th generation fighters and the other capabilites that come off the flight deck Honestly what a ridiculous videobrbrShould we sniff our own poo instead of watch this random waffle?
Comment from : Lewis

TheNecromancer6666
The Entterprise would soon celebrate her 70th birthday in service So judging by 70 years of tevhnological progress: the QE class is way, WAY more capable per ton
Comment from : TheNecromancer6666

Adam Orick
Lot of bla bla, lies, lies In reality it came down to maintaining the British military industrial complex
Comment from : Adam Orick

Brett Mitchell
Absurd suggestion
Comment from : Brett Mitchell

Brett Mitchell
Past capacity? brLost French support? brbrThe Royal Navy tonnage exceeds that of France, Germany and Spain combined brbrAdd the King’s warships from the Royal Navies of Canada, Australia and New Zealand, tonnage is higher than the whole of Europe’s navies combined
Comment from : Brett Mitchell

mikeycrabtree123
Are the QE class carriers better than the Enterprise? Yes and no Depends greatly upon who's perspective you want to answer that question from? For the needs of the Royal Navy; most likely yes, but for the needs of another country, probably not "Better" is a highly relative term, & what is "better" depends greatly upon what your total goals are
Comment from : mikeycrabtree123

Rob Burden
Absolutely
Comment from : Rob Burden

MARK CORBETT
Why would they want to buy a 50 year old ship? There’s a reason it was being decommissioned
Comment from : MARK CORBETT

Ben Grainger
We wouldn't have been able to buy the Enterprise anyway
Comment from : Ben Grainger

Catford
what a fucking pointless vid you clown the enterprise is an outdated ship that the US NAVY DOES NOT WANT
Comment from : Catford

iedco4
More foodbanks than McDonalds and the UK still finds the money for aircraft carriers !!
Comment from : iedco4

asap
As you just stated the Queen Elizabeth class air craft carrier was built specifically for the needs of the UK so yes for those reasons only it has to be better
Comment from : asap

Jack Lastimosa
The royal navy should not have sold their heli carrier to egypt or brazil
Comment from : Jack Lastimosa

Kenneth Hudson
Named after a witch
Comment from : Kenneth Hudson

Gary Holt
The USS Enterprise was over 50 years old and had reached its useful life span If it was still useful the USN would have kept it in service
Comment from : Gary Holt

gary mathena
Plus they use metric, we use standard measurements
Comment from : gary mathena

wyldhowl
You didn't have to make a whole video just to answer the question with the word "no"
Comment from : wyldhowl

scott brown
Do they have better loo roll? That greese paper is smering cloths!
Comment from : scott brown

Robert Rider
No, the British have the ability to build nuke powered carriers but face a huge uphill battle in development cost The QE is a great choice for them
Comment from : Robert Rider

dnate697
They should have retrofitted the Enterprise 2 birds with one stone:)
Comment from : dnate697

Comment from : DarkMatter

EFFEZE6280
Yes the QEs are a lot better
Comment from : EFFEZE6280

Alfonso Rodriguez
Old as it was, the Big E had more fire power that both British carriers combined but the Big E was already 50 years old and the Royal Navy requires a system developed for its specific requirements
Comment from : Alfonso Rodriguez

Matthew Weekes
No it would take to much money to refit it would be cheaper to build a new ship than refurbish the Enterprise
Comment from : Matthew Weekes

YouTube Sketches
The USS Enterprise was an amazing achievement But 50 years of use wears out a ship
Comment from : YouTube Sketches

James W
CVN 65, the first nuclear carrier, was commissioned in 1961 Not a Nimitz class carrier Retired because no longer suitable for action Not a serious question
Comment from : James W

Douglas Miller
Strip down the super structure and rebuild it as a battleship with four or more 16in turrets! Hellva fire support ship ! even nuclear powered!
Comment from : Douglas Miller

Dar Ploin
Enterprise was pretty much worn out when they retired her She still sits at Newport News shipbuilding and dry dock
Comment from : Dar Ploin

Bill M
I sailed around the world on the Big EbrShe was more than a match for the entire British navy, even if the entire French navy was helping
Comment from : Bill M

John Clements
The UK doesn’t have enough planes to fill the Enterprise 😂
Comment from : John Clements

Joseph DESTAUBIN
Naaa, the QE is a nice compliment to the existing International fleet brought to bear by Western Civilization against her enemies Still, got to get those catapults installed if she ever hopes to be everything she was designed to be
Comment from : Joseph DESTAUBIN

Barry Fletcher
The USS Enterprise was obsolete, and needed to be replaced
Comment from : Barry Fletcher

Why buy us ships which even us navy don't want
Comment from : AAA

William Foote
So much for ‘Mission First’brbrIf all those excuses left the Brits with a more capable AC, we’ll good for thembrbrWe all know that isn’t the casebrbrThey’d have had a higher functioning AC at a lower price and faster turnaround
Comment from : William Foote

RedLeader
The Enterprise is spent It would cost more to refurb it than a new carrier Also, the Enterprise was a test bed and has a lot of one-off equipment, a variety of hatches, and other devices that did not catch on
Comment from : RedLeader

ed trine
No They would have been better off buying one of the old Constellation class! They were oil fired
Comment from : ed trine

Aka company credit card
The QE2 and POW are the best sailing vessels on this planet There’s nothing more advanced or built by people with such a rich history of naval experience They are perfect the way the way they are and the yank boats have everything spelled incorrectly and everything’s built for fat fucks Would be very uncomfortable for Humans
Comment from : Aka company credit card
