2 year ago I got an FX8350 new on from New Egg for $69 special limited 3 day pricing The Gigabyte MB for $49 to $69 on clearance That is only $133 on the high side for brand new but older parts Radeon RX570 was $149 I only do light gaming and mostly stream anime, movies and light office productivity I run 24GB or RAM and it will out perform any console at comparable setting I use this PC for everything I do at home I have a PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch so I think it is funny so many people lose sight of the fact that not every computer build has to be a money no object gaming is all that matters build 2 year ago you could not get a Ryzen anything for $69 and you sure were not going to get even B450 for $69 either not new at least Some of you guys are constantly upgrading chasing the latest and greatest and that is almost as silly as buying a new car every year and taking that huge hit on your 1 year old car at trade in time Look at the mess people are in with the B450 X470 AM4 upgrade path and Ryzen 3000 I will wait until those boards are down to $50 on clearance buy one and wait for the price to drop on yesterdays best Ryzen CPU and clean up Put my money into Ram, NVMe,Video Card and milk it until it is just hopelessly outdated It is not about right or wrong either I am just pointing out you can turn things around and see them from a totally different perspective Plus all that heat from the CPU keeps my feet warm since I live in a cold climate with harsh winter! At 1080P and 1440P almost no difference at all A PS4 has a hard time gettng more than 60fps@1080 forget about anything higher Currently the Ryzen 5 2400G is $250 at newegg, Ryzen 5 3400G is $159 as of 5/14/2020 They did have some budget B450's for $54 but just wait and the premium B450's will tank Comment from : buckaroobonsi555 |

The cool thing about the FX CPU's is how much you can tune them Tweak CPU/NB and HT link with memory timings and you can sometimes gain up to 20 more FPS (Especially with minimum FPS) This is not an exaggeration, I know first hand, even getting into tuning the sub memory timings, though this all does depend on the game/program/software It is also worth mentioning that back in the day, HT link frequency was irrelevant, but now it is more relevant than ever being that it connects CPU to the motherboards northbridge controlling hard drive/s, gpu, ect Now days with AM3, it isn't difficult to create a bottleneck and populate all the bandwidth of stock HT link just using modern hardware Good video ! I think the fx 8350 is a good deal for the money at 70$ or less (especially if you have the ddr3 and a the motherboard already) I don't overclock mine and it does well even on the stock cooler (a very loud stock cooler -my real complaint) I only see power consumption around 125 watts It is it has to be twice as going as the phenom II 955 (which can go in the same board) If you are building a whole new system go for something with more memory channels Comment from : Matthew Kiehl |

You finally did it Butcher that 8350 8 cores my ass 😂 Recomendation as an ex owner, stay away from that CPU no matter how tight your budget is Save a little bit and get something better, believe me Numbers might not seem that bad on paper But in real life is very different The stutters, huge fps drops make the games unplayable even when you get a pretty decent average I upgraded that processor to a ryzen 5 3600 paired with a rx 480 (effectively an rx 580 with my pretty good oc) and now realize why it wasn't even hitting 60 degrees on full load It wasn't even breaking a sweat Now it finally has to work its ass off to keep up with the processor Comment from : andezurulleta1 |
