I appreciate these vids a lot as a 23 year old who was taught not to trust and be concerned about cc’s My 1st cc was the Student It from Discover as I already had a savings and checking account with them in 2020 Just a month ago, I got the Capital One Venture card because I’m not making that FT money but since I’m graduating in a year, I’m hoping to upgrade to the Venture X

this is for Canadian people right? if I get 4 credit cards and use every one of those but like only 10 percent of my credit card limit for every card, would I effect my credit score negatively?

Bro I applied for the Discover it card and they didn’t approve me what would be the best card for me to start out building credit (also I don’t even have a credit score yet) and had a high approval rating?

i got my first credit card about a year and a half ago; it was a capital one platinum 200 dollar limit, no fees, etc i was never an authorized user on my parents' credit cards when i was younger i got a new card (capital one quicksilver) earlier this year i have about a year and a half of credit history, a car loan, and a minor loan for an engagement ring, i have never missed a payment, and i very rarely go over 20-30 utilization my score is currently 720

Hi John! About the BILT card-- what if my landlord does not accept credit cards? Is it still possible for me to get and use this with some sort of loophole? :) I'd love to earn points on rent, since its my largest monthly expense!! Thanks!

I’m 18 and somewhat knowledgeable now in finances, in college and working for over 3 years now and have 2 credit cards I have capital one platinum with 50$ secured deposit and 200$ limit, I paid in full each month for about 6 monthes and now I just opened up a savor one account with capital one with plenty of benefits and cash back! I’m very happy and am using your tips for my credit journey

I'm not really sure if framing things in terms of age is appropriate here, specifically for the later cards Opening up credit cards with no annual fee and using them for points/cash back early on will definitely help build credit over time and secured cards are great entry points for those who have low credit or no credit history at all, I agree there 100 When it comes to the cards with annual fees however, what'll matter a lot more than age is whether or not you use the benefits that the card has to offer in such a way that you're saving or making back way more than you pay annually to hold the card For instance, someone in their late 20s or early 30s who makes good money but doesn't travel a whole lot or use UberEats or other subscription services isn't really going to benefit from holding an Amex Gold/Platinum card For those kinds of cards, rather than age brackets, I think lifestyle is probably a better way to frame which cards would benefit people the most since it would be detrimental to pay money for a card that you're not really taking advantage of as far as perks go I know you mentioned most of this already but people might see this framed by age category and get confused All in all good info though!

i'm over 18 but i just found out i'm an authorized user on a credit card my dad opened for me recently i also opened my own card and saw that there's an ongoing balance for that credit card that is linked to my credit score would it be possible to remove him from the account and pay it off myself? as an authorized user, i couldn't see the statement balance or anything and can only track it's position through viewing my credit score from my other bank i'd love to regain control considering my credit usage has just gone from good to fair ty for any and all help!

When you say pay in full do you mean pay the entire thing off or the minimum payments ?
