Sadly the world these days demands Quantity(Performance) over Quality(Resolution, Textures, Fidelity, etc) Major reason behind low sales with RTX cards Comment from : Infernus Titan |
nvidia now wont supply samples to this channel and techspot because they tell the truth about their shit overpriced cards Comment from : jaggafeen |
I can see many problems with the ray traces image It's more confusing Comment from : D D |
Have they fixed the dying cards problem? It's been over a month since I've seen anyone on YouTube talk about it Comment from : Greg Campbell |
I went to try bfv with my new 2070 rtx, so i had to update video driver, and some odd windows update what happened next was alot of other games were crashing and was all badhad to remove windows update and rollback to an older nvidia driver Comment from : judoz420 |
Who'd want to blow $1300 on a GPU to play 1440p60 Comment from : Icecream Cohen |
Bottom Line 2070 Best Custom Designs still overpriced Comment from : Aloa He |
Ok, let me get this straight The selling point of RTX is higher graphical fidelity After the patch, the raytracing has the same artifacts as SSR, looks blotchy, and is only required when reflecting off of curved surfaces (if the surface is flat, you only need colour correction and another render pass, which should be about 5-10 perf, (doom 3 had this in the bathroom mirrors)), of which there aren't that many brbrHow is this not a gimmick This is the Apple Touchbar, except the touchbar is actually useful Comment from : Aleksandr Petrosyan |
4x SLI 2080ti for 4K 60fps Ultra DXR and also serves as a heater in winter Comment from : DanteKOG |
Is it a secret the patch brought hybrid ssr and DXR ? Digital foundry already explained it Comment from : 635574 |
4:13 they have mixed screen space reflections with ray tracingbecause it’s very demanding to ray trace alpha textures such grass etc Comment from : Acid Rain |
I'm totally fine with reduced reflections Sometimes games feel so unreal with much reflections and shininess like everything is oiled up and wet Comment from : St Andreas |
Not being funny but this is new tech not sure why people moaning about the price, maybe its just the US but here in the UK the 1080ti is more expensive than the 2080 and with better optimizations the 2080 will be better than the 1080ti you might say it has higher FPS but of course it does when the 2080 is running DXR if you ran DXR on the 1080ti how much fps would you get Comment from : GrizzlyHD277 |
Many people are reporting big increases in standard DX12 mode, in the region of 20-40fps in some areas, with DX12 now outperforming DX11 mode easily, so it seems most of these gains come from general improvements to DX12 and ray tracing in general Comment from : Chade Fallstar |
it's really good but the price is just mental It should've been like the 1080 ti (800 euro's) :( Comment from : Sian |
A game like The Witcher 3 would benefit a lot from Ray Tracing It is an awesome technology that needs to keep being developed Comment from : Lathan Starnes |
Can you test it on a RTX 2070? Thanks! Comment from : ne0tic |
this actually gave hope to ray tracing at least in my heartbrps 720p low is most competitive settings very high framerate Comment from : Raandom Player |
scammed, real RTX cards out in 2 years Comment from : Aindriú Mac Giolla Eoin |
Leaves there is not even half of it on screen now And as of if anyone would notice it Yea not in the heat of fight but than again in such situation You don't look for reflections either This patch surly helps RT to shine as it cannibalize other visualsSo We are getting console experience on PC now when games get a patch for poor performance that actually don't fix anything but lower graphics settings to get better performance Well GJ Nvidia - You can say now that games with RT works smooth Comment from : AllTechForFun |
If you have an RTX 2080 just knock a few setting from Ultra to High and you can play at 1440p 60fps Ultra/High DXR Doubt you will notice much difference between Ultra and High for most of those settings Comment from : Mister Wolf |
At $800 the RTX 2080ti would be fair otherwise they can kiss my ass Comment from : Is Fire |
fyi they removed most of the samples Comment from : Dave Privacy |
just disable the ray shitting! Comment from : hyou zan ren |
I've heard this complaint about the gun reflections before - is this not just what scuffed up, dirty metal reflects like?! It just looks natural to mebrbrI also don't understand why people think better graphics won't impact performance I suppose it's been the same old shit for last 5 years or so, with the tech just pushing around more of the same pixels each year Proper lighting is clearly the future, and obviously the performance hits will decrease as developers learn how best to implement it Comment from : mcl48YT |
Regarding the leaves We noticed it immediately, and wanted to comment on on the spot but decided to wait a bit to see if you are going to point it out or ignore it It is extremely visible especially in side by side comparisons, with pre-patch scenes having way more leaves floating in and around the "shiny" surfaces So you saying that we woudn't have noticed it if you didn't point it out seems disingenuous WE NOTICED! Comment from : Nandi Brutler |
Why do PC games place such an importance on 60fps? I am more than happy with 40fps, it's perfectly playable, especially in single player mode Comment from : ThatPixelGuy |
Nope Saved you 18 minutes Comment from : mightymegatron |
Fuck Nvidia CrapTracing Comment from : Your Highness |

Was it broken? Comment from : Most-Lethal |
Low is still the sweet spot Comment from : Just Vienna |
They still haven't fixed the bug that doubles the price to performance multiplier Comment from : Daniel Ferguson |
They removed details how the hell is that a "fix" or "optimization" ? They essentially degraded the quality Comment from : CesarinPillin Gaming |
Hardware Unboxed channel is now flooded with AMD's retarded fanboys Comment from : LV Triverr |
IDK man, you can go on forever about wanting the max possible FPS in competitive shooters, in which case you just set everything to the lowest setting At that point, your card's not going to make a big difference if it's a choice between 150fps and 300fps Comment from : sinephase |
Its a shame to see ray-tracing turn out to be more of a marketing move than a worthwhile feature at the moment It might be a neat effect but the computational cost is still so ridiculously high that it isn't worth it Also the cost of these cards have been pushed significantly by the inclusion of this feature which is hard to justify from a consumer value standpoint Comment from : Alexis Rivera |
I just don't understand why is raytracing getting so much attention In its current form, few people could tell if it's on or off Comment from : Aoyagi |
So yes its got better no need for so many words )) Comment from : BorisTheBlade |
will you notice ray tracing when your busy in a 64 player server? Comment from : BorisTheBlade |
78ºC in 1080p? Y otros criticaban a la VEGA 64 que en 4K no levanta más de 62ºC Comment from : Martín Augusto Palacio |
Battlefield V Revisited, has DICE made the game not shit? bSpoiler: Nope, not at all/b Comment from : The Major League Ginger |
It's still unplayable and unstable Comment from : MOS |
"When you die and your whole life flashes before your eyes, how much of it do you want to NOT have ray tracing?" what other arguments do you need? Comment from : tenow |
I'd rather play in 4k with RTX disabled Comment from : Piterixos |
It looks and acts like a first generation card Maybe it'll get better with the 21/30xx cardsbrbrNot holding my breath as I'm sure it wont be till 2020 but ya know Comment from : James McTavish |
I dont wana sell my Kidney For this Shit MY GTX 1060 6gb is enough for me to play game i dont nees that type of graphics im happy 😂🤣😂 Comment from : Mohd Kashif |
These are impressive improvements, tbh, but the bars are not well presented - it is confusing to try to search by name and compare The bars for each tier should have been colored differently Comment from : Михаил Найденов |
Nice I may buy an RTX 3080 if they keep working on it Comment from : daverhodus |
Comments on this Video are the worst Can't you see the upcoming benefits of RTX for quality and realism of games in the future? Comment from : Junkz_o |

What a trainwreck Comment from : Baron von Limbourgh |
still no software though, bf5? who cares Comment from : mysteriousfox88 |

Meh i stick with my lovely gtx 1070 and playing games 1440p! Feck ray tracing! No way in hell im going back to 1080p and pay twice as my 1070 have cost Comment from : Xhizor NL |
The question is: do BF players care about RT? I am more interested in higher frame rates when in multiplayer than visuals any day! My point of view: Nvidia and Dice nice show of technology however not the primary concern of the game Comment from : Gasho Simon |
50 degrade with 50 performance loool ray tracing Play 4k no DXR with more than 100fps is better :₩ Comment from : Targetlockon |
Imagine if Nvidia has waiting until they had this title ready in this current state Or even waiting for the BF5 patch until it was in this statebrThey might of gotten luke warm reviews instead of terrible reviews Comment from : uglyduckling81 |
oh my god this ray tracing is such a ripoff It needs 10 years and it needs to come from AMD or not come at all I'll never pay $1300 for a gaming GPU, lol GPU's are throw-away products They aren't like a CPU or monitor which last much longer Comment from : Moonbogg |
Pull a golden pot out of your ass and your might find a 1080 Ti unused Comment from : sik3xploit |
Those leaves look ugly Comment from : LaxmanM Shettigar |
RTX, no thanks Comment from : Sir Real |
so DXR is useless still but at the very least nvidia didn’t lie this time Comment from : أحمد حميدان |
so the dumpsterfire is still burning hot Comment from : TropiKo |
Could you please next time put Pre and Post next to each other instead of ordering them per fps rates? Comment from : Simjedi |

tldw: They increased performances by gutting the quality Comment from : K M |
I want to stop and look at the pretty mirror and die from not paying attention, Don't even want to see that stuff in such a fast paced game anyway Comment from : By-tor |
Ray Tracing is definitely the future and it is amazing they can actually do it in real time at all That said, they really should have released GTX versions of the 2000 series at more reasonable prices, and only had RTX versions of the 2080 and 2080 Ti for the high-end enthusiasts who want to be early adopters Comment from : RavTokomi |
Short Answer: Buy AMD NAVI Comment from : Sasquatch Guy |
Imagine paying $600 to $3000 for a setting that is only used in one game-soon to be about 20, an anti aliasing method that is basically fake resolution and a sharpening filter that only works in supported games, and the new setting on low can bring you down to sub 60 FPS Comment from : youtuberobbedme ofmyname |
People don't understand that when you add new effects such as RT of course performance in fps goes down Common sense is that this is expected It's a poor comparison when measuring fps counter on or off That's like saying setting down the resolution to 640x480 puts the fps many times more faster than 4k or 1440p But are people going to set it that low to squeeze more fps sacrificing visuals? No, get real people Expectations are way too unrealistic for some of you folks Comment from : Lightsydephil |
If you want rays, go outside and enjoy the sun - do not cost too much either :) Comment from : Fusslowski |
Sooo RTX is crap shit by cutting off the amount of details but it was "a foliage" BRAVO Comment from : Bagdadsky_Hornik |
Lol, I've literally NEVER looked at screen space reflections in recent games and thought "man, that looks terrible, we need to fix this" BF5 looks fine, BO4 looks fine, wolfenstein 2 looks fine, forza horizon 4 looks fine RTX is just unnecessary There are so many other things that could be worked on but nvidia be like "lets make reflections and lights look a little better!"so stupid Comment from : Trevor Mundee |
I think Nvidia is making progress here so people with negativity keep playing the way you want and leave the new stuff to us that love what Nvidia's doing If we left things to AMD we might still be in 2015 Comment from : Philip Rudd |
Im gonna wait for the price fix patch Comment from : Killer32620 |
I paid 800 for the 2080, Ray tracing better suck me and fuck me at 200fps for that price Comment from : Colin |
they fixed it :D Comment from : Serj Rozov |
Would be nice if we can buy a lower end RTX to add as a dedicated GPU for Ray tracing like they did with physx Comment from : Dru670 |
