Hello Luke, just curious what kind of lights you used to make this video Were they flourecent by any chance Thirty dollars seems a fair bit considering LED lights are out now that use one hundred watt Mine don't need to be set past forty on the dimmer so I calculated three of them would use about $58 per quarter year should it be set to fifty watt

There is an old book " The Complete Book of Gardening Under Lughts" by Elvin McDonald (Doubleday c1965) with a bent towards florescents, that is interesting in addition to many modern "Grow your own" books which tend to use Metal Halide or High Pressure Sodium lights Ultimately Metal halide is most sunlike, HP Sodium is close but plants tend to stretch, and fluorescents/LEDs can be worthy

No 1 Growing lights cost a fortune and No 2 - The electricity bill to run them for one harvest you probably could have bought a year's supply of veggies for your family I would not call that Self - Sustainable, but burning your hard-earned cash

It seems all vegs have a “range” (like 1300-1700 ppms) for their best growing ppms hydroponically Does the highest figure (1700) mean I get the best FLAVOR at this nutrient level than I would at 1300 level?

Lower the lights to get faster growth Put a thermometer at the top of the plants to keep the temperature ideal for whatever crop you are growing
