This is my first winter with my birds, I have 12 hens, a rooster and 8 muscovy ducks (all in the same coop and run) I really appreciate your winter prep videos and have made plans on how to make the winter safer for my birds I live in Ontario Canada (about as far north as you are) and although we aren't in the prairies, we do get some pretty harsh winter days here Thank you so much for your advice! Will be getting plastic to wrap my coop this coming weekend!

Hi from Finland! This is the first winter with our young chickens, and i'm both exited and worried about how we're going to make it We have the deep litter method, and our coop is built inside an old barn, so the henhouse is actually quite well protected from three sides, the third wall is still a work in progress, but we are going to put some insulation there and we are considering the plastic thing you recommended Thank you very much for your videos, they are most helpful with keeping our darling nuggets safe and warm

What/if do you cover your wood flooring before doing the deep layer bedding? Just starting out and have a coop coming Will have wood floors Do I need to cover the wood or does the urine poop do anything with the thicker layering? Any help would be appreciated TIA

I actually have a 10 x 10 walk in coop with chickens and ducks This year I'm using three Dietz kerosene lanterns for heat, I'm also going to try lining the inside walls with cardboard to keep the drafts out They love the lanterns!

I only have a few weeks left to get my dream farmhouse a two bedroom on a gorgeous 15 acres thair is so much I want to do I cant wait to start and build all my projects chickens are my first priority
