I am a positive dig trainer and it appears my career has taken a turn I am finding myself with predominately stressed, reactive dogs especially GSDs Because of your videos I am seeing tools used correctly may help exponentially I like how you say you COULD do it different way and you were willing to use other methods if the prong did not work Thank you, a million times I'm taking your course Comment from : Charlotte Harris |
Ill be honest My dog does this too with trying to drag me through the door too My boy gets super excited and hyper when i even just touch his leash Im going to try this method given in this video Love your videos, thank you for this teaching technique!❤💯 Comment from : 🖤AvaSoul98🖤 |

You have given me so much hope🙇🏻♀️ Comment from : Rachel Briiones |

Beautiful! Comment from : Cheryl Anderson |

Love it These purely positive folks are straight delusional if they think every dog can be fixed with just love and treats Sure, if you do it right from birth, a puppy can be trained that way However, there are dogs that haven't been given structure, or shown what is ok and what is not ok Not all dogs learn the same way and it's great that you can post something like this to demonstrate it! Comment from : ScruffyTusks |

I love this so much!!!! Comment from : heather quiring |

How did the dog get to be that size with no discipline and structure? Shame on the owner Comment from : Erline Andrews |
I have a Corgi/Heeler mix that I tried to use completely positive training methods with (BIG mistakeif you understand Corgi and Heeler psyches at all you'll know why lol) and so here we are and he's 9 months of age and I feel so relieved to be back doing balanced training I absolutely love your training videos, I just discovered them and although I've been involved in the dog world since the 70's, I'm always learning new things Thanks for being such a positive, helpful trainer to these dogs I'm so glad I found this video series Comment from : Kimba Lorber |
Once you start training with the prong collar, do you continue using it on all walks, or just for the trainig period? Comment from : Bill White |
Best video so far I’ve seen on dog behaviour ❤ Comment from : Connie Fudge |
"Most humane way possible" proceeds to pull out a prong collar That's all it takes to see that this dude is a joke Realistically it's the fastest and laziest way with no regard for being humane Positive reinforcement would be the most humane way It's slower though and not as flashy so less views which means less money Fear and pain are quick motivators which is why he gets results so quickly Those are terrible foundations for a long term dog/owner relationship though Comment from : Anthony Skallet |
So if you're really a great trainer do it without a prong collar or a slip collar If slip collars can damage the trachea and throats, let's see some real training without these torture collars Comment from : Elfin4 |
Thanks! Comment from : Susan Meadows |

Wow my two German shepherds are way worse than this 🥹 Comment from : 🌸Kat |

I'm watching different dog training and trainer videos and i feel bad that each trainer needs to justify his training methods in 2023 when I am watching this video brbrI only train my dogs and have helped some friends I have only used a slip collar and it's worked for me brbrI love that others can use play or treats, but I don't need to justify my way, because my dogs that I have owned are/were safe and happy brbrIf I get new dog, I will try treats and/or slip collarbrbrI don't make YouTube videos so I don't have to be popular and save my business or channel brbrLove all you guys and I thank all of you different trainers for taking the extra effort to teach us to be better dog ownersbrbrPsbrMy first dogs were dobbies One of the easiest dogs to train, so I had kind of unfair advantage 🤣brbrPss brA few years back,brI saved a dog that was going to be euthanized because it was a biter It bit the foster owners daughter, but she still wanted it saved It bit me badly the minute I met it brbrI put a slip collar on it and took it for a walk and the dog was puddy in my hands after brbrIt was a malinois and was found guarding it's dead owner A loyal dog that just needed a chance brbrThis dog was easy to train and loved it, but was beyond my knowledge Great on a long training leash and an athlete I got sooo many compliments on how well behaved it was brbrBut I always kept it far from strangers in a park or if they were close, a short leash brbrAfter many months, I found the original trainer It's now in a good home brbrTools can save lives ✌️ Comment from : Leo Degas |
The trainer is pretty good I think he should do more videos if he hasn't because I think it would really help him with public speaking and getting the message across Comment from : Illusion |

question for anyone here I have tried using a prong collar but my dog will just run through it when he sees a dog, squirrel, whatever to the point the whole neighborhood will hear him scream should i only use it lets say in the back yard for instance? for small training sessions? if that's the case how do I walk him on the street without a prong collar before his behavior is corrected? Comment from : ashley billington |

Does anyone have an alternative to prongs and e collars? Theyre banned in my country, so i can't use these tools Comment from : Spirits Memory |
Great work I do feel an aversion to things like prong collars I think I would have to put one on myself and see what it feels like to determine whether or not it is something I would use I do think they are effective however (in the right hands at least) I like that you mentioned how you dont actually NEED one to communicate with the dog effectively, and personally I like not using one, even if it is more difficult Comment from : Jabroni |
U are SOOOOO RIGHTTYFOR SHARINGKEEP ON KEEPING ON WITH HIM❤❤❤❤❤ Comment from : Barbara Lewandowski |

Thats my dog She isnt that nervous but she is NOT food motivated at all However, she does get told no when she pullz on the leash and she still doesnt listen Ive tried several tequniques, includinf the one he seems to oractice here whrre you walk in all different ditections to teach them to follow you and not to ignore pressure on the leash Maybe i just need more time? Comment from : Patricia Sinclair |

Brandon mcmillan is the most gentle, thorough and effective dog i've ever encountered My friend and i love the dog show and never miss it So many times we've shed a tear of happiness just seeing a dog's life changed forever when proper training is applied and they go on to live their lives the way they should I have brandon's book wwwyoutubecom/post/UgkxK8-VQWpYThx4IC6MiIvb6VS1ebTzzdxq in two formats Not only the paperback version but also the kindle version to refer to when i don't have the paperback along with me I have used his methods with my cavalier kc spaniel and turned a non-disciplined furbaby into a companion who has traveled thousands of miles with us across the country He is a near perfect dog thanks to brandon's methods I don't get one cent of kickback for recommending brandon but i do it because i love dogs They deserve to be given a chance Brandon's mission in life - to rescue dogs and place them in a forever, happy home - is very dear to my heart I recommend his methods to anyone who has a dog - young or old I've seen him take even old dogs and teach them Brandon was an animal trainer before his current mission His parents were animal trainers His methods are the best i've ever found Your furbaby will thank you for spending the money on this book Don't hesitate - it is worth every cent Comment from : Francisco Servant Colmenero |

My whole body hurts from walking my dog because if these issues, and I dread it It's been 5 years and no progress hopefully this works but I have spent hours outside with her doing this EXACT same thing with no progress It's made me late to work countless times, makes me look like an asshole in the neighborhood because I'm always yelling at my dog to stop hurting me, I am looking for a new home because it hurts too much to try anymore My hands are in constant pain from always pulling on the leash 3 times a day, 30 mins plus each time It hurts to do my job because I work with my hands, or my hobbies like climbing because my wrists and hands are always in pain from my dog I can't do this anymore Comment from : Climbthisthang |
Thank you I have a current foster who needs to have structure and I’ve had to use a prong collar to control her as we are working towards more balanced behavior The rescue is very anti tool use It’s making me nuts I’m trying to work with her with both food and brain stimulation I cannot even walk her because she’s so reactive I’m getting a fence next month which will allow me to work with her better And she’s escaped a couple of times, which scares me to death The staff at the rescue were just looking for a sucker they could hook the dog up with I wasn’t able to even get relief when I had procedures done I’ve paid for training on my own but of course it’s positive reinforcement only I’m at my last straw here Comment from : Sherryl C |

My Frenchie generally walks well but he does pump his brakes often when he wants to stop to sniff something It is really annoying, he's so strong and can stop me in my tracks straight away Comment from : Yorkshire Lass |

I feel attacked 😂😂😂 It’s always the GSDs 🤦♀️🤣 Comment from : Hollie Hines |
Really great video It's a really nice example how to correctly use a prong collar Gentle pulls, or let the dog pull it And let him correct him self with the right guidance of the human, with words and pats and a gentle tough Comment from : Mariën Arno |
Great video but the bubble music when you have fast mode on is too much for my sensory issues Comment from : Appalachian Nana |
Question for you: you advocate for the Sprenger 225 mm prong collar You have that on a large dog Some of what I’ve read for the sprenger collar is that for a large dog the prong sizes should be 3 mm or 4 mm Are you using the 225 with any size a dog? Do you have a particular reason for that? Comment from : 29trixie |
This video is still just as relevant today! 💖💖 Comment from : Jen O |
Is it just me or is half the video him telling us what the problem is which we ascertained 2 min into it…! 🤦🏽♂️ Comment from : Kencole19 |
I have Cane Corso's I totally appreciate your use of a prong collar I think we both know it's not the answer in the long term I mean handling the dog without one Once it's off, he's back to his previous behaviour! You or the owner need to be the prong collarit's figuring out how to be that, with each individual dog that is the catalyst Only time & patience will get you there Brilliant start for a dog that needs an immediate response to ensure his or his owners safety though :) Comment from : Pamela Howarth |
I appreciate this thank you for sharing Comment from : Pedro Mora |

My dog is 15yo She is a rescue I trained her very well and she is a wonderful dog She's my life But over the past two years she's slowly lost everything, she refuses to listen and is so extremely anxious like this dog here, all the time lately I don't understand why and I try to hold to her training but it isn't working I've tried everything and I'm getting frustrated and scared Do I have to consider having to have her euthanized??? 🥺🥺🥺💔💔💔 Comment from : Pito Hūii |

I'm not convinced this GSD has had any real time on a leash before arriving at your facility I saw him try to give you his paw 35 times; playful, more importantly,,,,,,,he trusts you! I can see it in his expressions that he wants to do well by you He's a good dog, I'm quite sure you enjoyed working with him over time I've bred, raised, shown (German ring) & trained GSD's over the past 30 years; absolutely magnificent animals, ♥️ em' Tom, you called all of the right shots with this dog Comment from : Brendan Perry |
