Mine doesn’t care is she’s literally dying of being choked so bad when she pulls, we tried everything… stops and wait until she relaxes (she doesn’t), turns another direction(she just changes the direction she pulls), pull back in pauses, etc She is DEAF when she’s outside of the house, so no command works😅 Comment from : Aurora Chen |

What if you have an extra small breed puppy? I have a 7 month 'teacup' pomeranian and theres no way she can safely wear a collar as she chokes herself without stopping, and as im sure ypu know small dogs are prone to tracheal collapse, so she wears a harness She pulls non stop from the moment we get out of the door, doing the bunny hop and trying desperately to run! I've tried doing the stop, wait for slack but as soon as we go again shes pulling like crazy, ive also tried doing the double tap tug on the lead- she doesnt care just keeps pulling What do I do? The problem I am having is that she pulls all the time no matter what she even pulls with a collar and we can't get rid of distractions She is literally distracted by grass It also doesn't help that there are five people in the house with very different ways of training and too stubborn to try anything I suggest My solution is to not be the one walking the dang dog I love her to pieces but I am a small woman and she has the strength of a red nosed pit She doesn't walk beside anyone ever I have tried so many things and so many ways but I am tired and frustrated They ended up getting her a harness because she wouldn't stop pulling with a collar and was literally choking every time she was on a walk I dunno if she just has high energy from the Jack Russell or what She is a mixed breed Jack Russell and red nosed pit Comment from : Rabbitzan Drakague |
|

Why don''t any of these videos about challenging dog behaviours ever feature smaller dogs? A Jack Russell for examplea notoriously defiant dog, inclined to be erratic, difficult to physically control (ie they're slippery little suckers) and with a short attention span that results in them being easily distracted? OhI think I just answered my own question🙄 Comment from : Linda Dixon |
