Good to knowbrI’m a 45 year shooter & I blindly assumed “Precision” referred to the build quality of the riflebr“Precise fitment” of the components, bedding, truing the action, bolt, barrel, boring & chambering of the barrelbrThus producing a highly accurate rifle brHad no idea it referred to shooting a tight group Comment from : Tommy Kawasaki |
That's why after buying it building a rifle I like to see what it can do precision wise, how many MOA it's shooting, and the adjust it the be accurate for whatever optic I plan on using Comment from : The Patriot Paradox |

Какая модель винтовки кто-то подскажет пожалуйста😫🙏🙏 Comment from : Костя Груздяев |

Precision is the equipment, accuracy is the shooter It doesn't matter how precise a weapon is if you can't shoot it well enough to hit the same spot from shot to shot You see this a lot in archery Most bows if you put them in a shooting machine they will stack arrows on top of each other How accurate it will be depends on how forgiving the bow is and how consistent the archer is from shot to shotbrbrAnd with rifles you will often see different types of competitions Some will be accuracy and others like bench rest shooting will be precision Precision shooting you are not really trying to hit a bullseye or anything You are simply trying to hold the tightest groups you can Comment from : Paul Mohr |
In the machinist's world it's accuracy versus repeatability You can compensate for errors in accuracy but less so for poor repeatability Both factors exist in all machine tools, as well as firearms Comment from : gone rydin |

An instrument can be precise, finely crafted and well designed brPeople determine the accuracy and not just the shooter, the people at the ammunition factory, the people who make the casings, primers, primer compounds, powders and bullets Every single time you pull the trigger, you're putting your faith in at least 14 total strangers who may or may not even take the job seriously That's a really huge variable Comment from : Carlos Speicywiener |
Precision with out accuracy is pointless And there is no accuracy without precision Differentiating between the two, is a futile hair split! Comment from : B G |
The way I think of it is that precision is repeatability Can you, with that gun and ammo, repeatedly put bullets in the same place? Accuracy is how close you are to true Accurate but imprecise (large, centered group) is hard to fix as it could be your technique or it could be you have a bad gun Precise but inaccurate is fixed by adjusting your sights Comment from : AJ Hodges |
