There are so many things going wrong herebr1 There is not enough space for the flames to properly divertbr2 Flames and thrust are directly impacting the water deluge systemsbr3 Super heated steam will eat away all the launch pad after every liftoff br4 Raptors will continue to fail as long as spacex will try to lift-off starship with so little ground clearence br5 The massive thrust of starship and that little tiny space between the raptor and the ground (new water system) is the greatest joke of the century! It will not work unless they build a proper flame diverter like NASA did Maybe SpaceX is rich! But its launch pad looks super cheap!

Absolutely insane, if you watch carefully during the static fire on the overhead view, you can still see the water ejecting out with the flames on top, a clear sign that the water pressure is so strong it is deflecting the flames outwards away from the steel plate

I really hope that by the next Starship flight test that SpaceX will have invested in a proper flame deflection system like NASA's, so they don't blow up their launch pad (and thrusters) again, or shower the landscape with pulverized concrete and shrapnel

Seems like the water flow is not enough for full power 8:06 shows hardly any steam compared to smoke and dust, so it looks like pressure from the raptors is enough to hold back the water flow through the base

Why do they hate flame trenches? Just do it properly ffs there's a high likelihood this type of firing will fatigue the airframe and cause complex issues that limit reusability

"Full duration" Now hold on one moment Does that mean the test went full duration on all engines, or does that mean the test would have gone full time at the moment that announcement was made? ie, if a 10 second test went for not quite 3 seconds, might we get a 'full duration' call at the ten second mark? Would that not be somewhat ambiguous to a viewer later?

does the rough, rumbling sound of the test reveal some extra information about the (un-)smoothness of the engine start-up? Or is it dominated by turbulence in the flash-steaming of the deluge water? Are there any resonances occurring? Do You have strategically placed microphones? bris the timing of the deluge water start optimized?
