Replace the disc drive ribbon That’s how I fixed mine and was able to update It cost me $477 and took 5 min and I’m in no way shape or form qualified to even take the lid off my ps4😂😭

step by step ong how to fix brstep1: open ps4 brbrstep2: disassemble power suply brbrstep3: check the ribbons if there are all connected properly and not damage this happen to me and i saw my ribbon cable has a rust on it so i had to replace it ut before replacing try to clean the ribons and the port on ribon try to use something metal to clean it and on port use sime brush and no conductive liquid like lighter fluidbrbrstep4: put back every thing just dont put the cover yet so you can check if something goes wrongbrbrstep5: test your ps4 nowbrbrnote if you dont have a disc tray (dvd) or it is broken you dont need to replace it what you need on the disc tray is just the green board that every thing plug intobrbrif replacing method did not work maybe your port of the ribbon has a problem like rust broken pins metal flakes etc but sometime the green small board can be the problem to but i suggest start with the cheapest option just to give you an idea the price of the disc tray (dvd) is around 50 US$brbrthere are no other ways to fix if you are thinking about maybe sofware could fix this, maybe some tweaks can fix this NO its all about between the grean board main motherboard and the ribbon
