In Arizona in the winter time, some people oversee their lawns with ryegrass Home Depot and Lowe’s and all the other retail outlets sell summer fertilizer, which is slow release, but for winter time you need to release fertilizer and I think this might be the solution They used to sell ammonium nitrate which worked beautifully, but they don’t sell it anymore I could get a product with iron in it, but since I use a broadcast better, I don’t want to get iron in peoples pools or on their sidewalks This could be the solution; but I haven’t tried it I thought about it after I got out of the business

The WalMart store brand DEF is about half price of the Blue DEF brand It's probably the same (in fact there's a good chance it's made in the same tank, and they just switch the bottles at the packaging line) It has to be made pretty pure or it will foul up the diesel engine exhaust systems It's a straightforward manufacturing process (I'm a chemical engineer)

I drive a truck so I knew this was basic urea so I often wondered what it would do to the grass, but worried if there was another chemical that might be bad but the label agrees with what you say here hmm Thanks for the info ;<)

I’m sorry if I missed this It’s getting cooler here in NJ and I’ve done the spoon feeding of this in the summer How often can I apply this now that it’s cooler? Once a week, every other week? Can I apply every week until it’s the darkness I want? My soil tests has almost all of my other readings in the optimal area I just want to get it super dark now

I've tried this and have been underwhelmed with the results I have a really low total nitrogen per soil testing (161 with optimal between 7-18) and have been more impressed with lawn solutions 28-0-0 put down at less than half of the DEF dosing Maybe in the hot weather this urea is just too volatile

Hey George, so i don't torch my lawn, just wanted to check my understanding on the math So i have 4000 sq ft Want to go for 2lb N/1000 sq ft so i would use around 80 oz of the DEF fluid right? I read a post on lawn forum saying it you stay at or under the 2lb mark you don't have to water in but i don't know, it makes me nervous lol
