I haven't gotten to when Salazar betrayed Briggs with Harper alive and with karma so I'm not sure who sacrifices themselves for her not to die or if someone even does it but Harper being alive definitely made the game more personal, going through missions alone just isn't the same if your first time beating the game was with Harper by your side

If you choose to shoot Harper, Harper will die, and Farid will live, and Farid will give his life and die in order to save the girl Karma from Salzar when he betrayed his friends On Menendez, Menendez will get angry at Farid and kill him, and Harper will survive, and Salzar will kill the girl Karma when he betrayed his friends, and Harper will kill Salzar and accompany David Mason in the rest of the story
