Man I had to STOP your video you were driving me Crazy with your CPU and memory voltage way to much talking you seem to condemn ASUS Bios maybe you should make your own can't understand why people on YouTube always condemn what they're trying to explain instead of just making it simple thank you for the video Comment from : Steve Joseph |

The POST Code readout does act as a temperature readout on this motherboard It is even mentioned in the manual Same can be done on mid to high end ASROCK boards Very helpful feature to that shows CPU temperature while in OS You have to turn Q-Code LED Function option to AUTO for it to work Comment from : Bastion Tec |
Thank you for making this video I have had the ASUS Code motherboard for a year and this has really helped me understand how to set it up properly Comment from : Craig James |

ROG MAXIMUS XI GENE on Windows7 Comment from : 親子丼 |
Hey Buildzoid, you can display cpu temp on post code LEDs If you choose auto instead of post code only, it will display cpu temps after booting Works on my Maximus X Hero, pretty sure it tells you in the description of it as well Been working at least since Maximus IX, tho that was my first ROG board so I don't know about before that (always had like the pro gaming cheaper boards before that :P) Comment from : RJ Santiago |
Don't do much memory overclocking, but on a Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC) and 8700K with Samsung B-Die (GSkill 3600MHz 16-16-16-36 Kit), and there is a difference with mode 1 and 2 for Maximus tweak My board auto defaults to mode 1, switching to mode 2 actually raises all the bandwidth and lowers latency a bit when testing with memory and cache benchmark in aida64 Nothing truly noticeable in day to day usage or gaming, but slight improvements in some benchmarks Comment from : RJ Santiago |
Please do a similar video for the EVGA z390 Dark and this time don't be afraid to be thorough Comment from : techietech |
XMP I is the rated specs of the memory kitbrXMP II is Asus's 'performance' settings that give you memory issues and corrupts windows so have to reinstall it Comment from : Some guy |

You need to get Steve to take you along with, when he goes to visit Tin Something tells me that he'd be able to explain all of those magic settings very easily Comment from : VCPester |
Nice video glad i'm not the only one who does not understand most of the advanced settings in extreme tweaker Just whish i could understand the memory stuff more on the extreme board i'm having troubles tightening my timmings or raising frequencie above 4266 (i Know it's a 4 dim board but stil with my 32gb Gskill bdie kit 4400 should b possible according QVL list) Comment from : L S |
XMP 2 loads even more settings first it was described in older bios versions as being for some intel cpu's but i expirienced stability and boot problems when running high frequentie memory even when they are supported in QVL list of the Asus motherboard with XMP 2 Comment from : L S |
Question : 15v dram safe 100 24/7 or should I stay in 14 /145 range ? Comment from : ninezerofive |
This is a really nice coincidence, i just ordered a Maximus XI Gene and a 9900K which will arrive today hopefully Tremendously helpful video man Thank you very much for the much appreciated content on this channel and Gamers Nexus Have a good one :) Comment from : CavemanXXL |
IOAPIC is for irq address space, you generally want it always on, without it you limited to 21 or so irqs if I remember right Its probably also a requirement for MSIX but not sure on the latterbrbrMemory remap is required for 64bit address space in memory if I remember right It used to be meaningful as when 64bit cpus were new it defaulted to disabled and one would have to enable it if you had more than 4 gig of ram, but now it always defaults to enabledbrbrSRIOV is related to VT-d I believe, so basically if you stick something like a hardware raid card in a pcie slot and want to passthru to a virtual machine, I believe SRIOV would have to be enabled, root port virtualisationbrbrNetwork stack config would be useful for booting of a network, a enterprise orientated feature Common in datacentres eg used for things like recovery boot's Comment from : chrcoluk |
I wonder how many Asus engineers would have to sit down to be able to explain what ever single setting does clearly and accuratelybrbrI also have to wonder how many times "Don't touch that" is the answer Comment from : Dan Pellegrino |
Having watched this video I now understand why buildzoid loves beefy VRM's just max it all out ;) Comment from : chrcoluk |
Mode 1 definitely is better when pushing for 4800C14, based on the Maximus XI thread on hwbot and my own testing Comment from : sabishiihito |
Now do crosshair 7 x470 Comment from : Tõnu Rääk |
When you set your Q-code led to AUTO when all lights are on it will diplay CPU temp after showing POST codes I have BCLK Slew Rate disabled I have noticed higher 3DMark score with setting this value from 64us to 32 to disabling Left it that way as I don't notice any stability issues (9900k) Comment from : Rich76 |
I really hope for a Gene like X570 board, mostly because the M2 Extension card and the style Comment from : Liƒe |

For being a high end board from 2019 this UEFI looks awfully similar to my Z87 Deluxe from 2013 Seems to be just as clunky and cluttered also Comment from : Meteor Media |
