It's become so hard to root a samsung nowadays In the days of yore when I had a note 2, the bootloader came unlocked, it was a breeze to flash custom recovery and ROMs Now the bootloader is locked and you can't unlock it on a new device without some date and time trickery The rooting procedure has gotten pretty tricky too Also, samsung still doesn't have a/b partitions so forget root after an OTA update or forget OTA update if you flashed a custom recovery as well I need root just for AdAway and Viper4Android but chances of me rooting my next device are slim

This is my opinion, I don't think rooting is going away, rather things are changing Especially when you can flash a GSI to bring an older device every so slightly more into the present It's as great way to give some degree of new life to these older devices that would otherwise be e-waste

I have screen-off gestures in my Oppo A83 and it came out in 2016 with android 7 but the downside is that im scared to root because i noticed a lot of people to root there oppo a83 lose all access to apps and stuff and i dont know how to use adb i mean i know the commands like fastboot oem unlock and that kind 😅

been rooting since forever and now in 2023 I definitely know that I have been rooting not exactly because of it's advantages but because it something that I can do and is fun I simply love the possibilities rooting presents regardless of how miniscule they are I just wanna do things I can't do with a normal non rooted phone 😂

i dont think custom rom still worth it been there before unless your device is already to old, you dont have to use custom rom just root your device, and optimize it the way you want, at least you will unlikely need to deal with bugs since you use stock rom there ton you can do with just rooting to name few, debloating is much easier, block ads is more efficient so i think rooting still worth it, just not installing custom rom

I only really root because some OEM'S block or hide some special features on thier OS based on your region Using root allows me to unlock those hidden features I've been rooting all my phones since 2011 and it's really sad for me to see it slowly dying

Rooting my pixel 3XL was the best thing ive done i now can customize my lockscreen add custom clocks and many more like 90fps in Gaming while my mobile only supports 60fps and 144Hz when it supports only 60hz so many upgrades in a low budget phone

The only reason that i'm not rooting my phones is for the banking apps I use a lot I'm using PixelExperience on my Xiaomi Mi 8 lite and runs great On my other device, an LG G8S ThinQ i'm still running stock Android 12 Unlocking the boot loader is a bit difficult and risky (on Xiaomi is way, way easier) and I don't have the patience to do it :P brI think my first android device that i installed a costum rom was an HTC tattoo :D

I have rooted and installed custom ROMs on Note 2, Note 4, Note 5, Pixel XL and a few others (rooted Huawei mate 8 and a bunch of handheld android gaming tablet devices) but I can't risk rooting on my daily phones as I use the tap to pay feature religiously and need my phone to be as reliable as possible I miss the days when I was running some modified note 6 / 7 featured rom on my note 5 the day after I got it for Christmas The days of rooting and custom ROMs for me aren't over, just on my primary device
