PensionCraft there was a lost opportunity here to challenge Simon Dixon on tether scam claims being brought by the NY Attorney General lawsuit since he is a shareholder of iFinex Inc (parent company who owns tether and bitfinex) This tether scam by priting new tether out of thin air and manipulating bitcoin trading volumes and prices poses a systematic risk to bitcoin with only a handfull of people raising awareness

From what I understand crypto gains are now treated as capital gains in the UK That's how I declare mine anyway : I treat BTC just as if it were a stock ticker, and use the same rules to group buys and sells etc Seems to be working OK so far (although i've only been in the market since 2017) Some people might be tempted to try and ignore the tax issues, but given that there's a permanent record of all buys & sells on the blockchain I think that's a very dangerous game

Bitcoin is at its core, a communication protocol, a piece of technology I always find it when non-IT finance people (eg Simon) talk about Bitcoin to be superficial at best They make generic statements with nothing underneath to back it up Simon spoke a lot but really said nothing Is his idea to overcome some of the custodian difficulties of gold, is for someone to put their entire life savings underneath their bed mattress on a usb stick??? - just my 2cents

@Pensioncraft Thanks for the videobrbrI am bullish on bitcoin because I do not trust in the fiat currencies and how economy works on large scales But the thing about bitcoin which I cannot wrap my head around is this:br- You cant 'create' it and there is only a finite amount to mine, so if one day it becomes store of value: only todays whales and tomorrows institutions will own it?! What happens to middle and lower class people? They cant mine it and they cant own it because its too expensive So how does that work out???br- Also, everytime something powerful, disruptive comes along there is this need, pressure, urgency to regulate and control it Humans will find a way like they always have :/
