I wondered whether or not it would be an improvement regarding energy efficiency to use only one power supply that outputs 12v for the drives instead of using one psu for each drive brThere are probably some ways to achieve this, tight? I ask this, because I recently bought some drives off Amazoncom, because they are cheaper there and unavailable in Germany, and I am not sure whether the PSUs can handle 220V (although I think most likely they do)

@eugenb77000 have 20 porche design 8tb HDD and he is plotting 3200 nonce/min in using his CPU, we tried to solve it so he can plot using his gpu rx480, 16GB ram, we almost have the same rig except from CPU and hdd brand he tried to use my config which im able to plot 30-40k nonce per min but it wont work in him anybody can help?bri think the bottleneck is the HDD which is according to google an SMR drive is there any way?bri told him to buy 1 PMR hdd so he can plot it there and copy it to lacie if anyone can help, much appreciate it

2/3 years for a mechanical hard drive with continuous usage They might even crap out before that It is passive income, but money wise you might be better of putting your 'investment' into a separate savings account and send yourself monthly money for the next 3 years But of course that's not as much fun If you have a harddrive laying around it might be worth a shot But actually investing eg buying a bunch of storage space isn't really worth it from my perspective
