Thanks Hank, this video provided me with hope because I have been comparing myself and what I want to do with others and the ideal greater than human character that I have been feeling worthless and that in turn isn't allowing me to work on what I want, I have been having anxiety over what a ideal human with a ideal job is and seeing this video just gave me the confidence that what's ideal and what's is mostly decided by the society

I've been searching for a while for a video to give me advice on what to do after my bachelors I didn't expect for a video that was so generic that was it was more helpful than the rest Somehow I feel better about my self I'll manage to be a good engineer XD

My advice is to work and save hard, don't spend too much on luxury items You need to have money for later in life, invest but be very careful and learn about investment in your country Check for different types of savings accounts and make sure those you go with are legitimate

As a college professor I tried to tell people that college is not meant to be a vocational school Few people get to work in the field they majored in, but you can become a more thoughtful person with better understanding of life You can apply it whatever you do I’m lucky I finally taught in community college with vocational programs and general education

That/s for people who live in the developed countries , but what about us in the 3 rd world , your whole life depends on what path did you follow after graduating from high school , either you will get a job that will let you afford the cost of living and maybe sometimes the luxury of enjoying ur self , or you will be miserable until your last day on earth

I needed this man, thanks for making this video I barely made it out of high school because of my hectic personal life, but that awful gpa told me that I wasn't going to amount to anything Just started Jr college and it was so overwhelming The pressure to succeed, needing to feel useful to the world, and realizing trying to accomplish my dreams were probably amounting to failure made me feel so defeated, and i haven't even been on earth for that long All week I've been feeling hopeless and lost, but now I don't feel so alone I just want to be happy in my future, I don't want money to dictate me into a miserable life I'm going to keep putting myself out there and do my best!

just sharing my journey i flunked out of my university and took 6 years in total to finish i had no idea what i wanted to do and was scared of the "real world" while at college i was into music bands and recording and producing music and i tried to follow that path after i graduated i was a bum for 15 years just trying to make money thru music i made very little money still living at my parents house i was applying at jobs i knew i didnt want (programmer circa 2002) but an older friend offered me an opportunity to apply in HR at a growing company i did not know what i was getting into but i tried it i never knew i was a people person but apparently i WAS! so i tried my best at my field for about 13 years i focused on learning and not earning my peers and even my girlfriend was making more money than me but i focused on learning after 13 years at corporate i put up my own recruiting business (8 years running) and i love what i do im one of the lucky ones here are a few take-aways 1) dont be afraid to try things new paths and to fail 2) always do your best no matter if you think you will end up doing that for the rest of your life or not 3) focus on LEARNING and NOT EARNING as much as possible it helps to not have kids too early 4) once you find something you love doing - go all in but play the long game hope this helps

Awesome 👏🏼 I’m finishing my PhD Today I had a PostDoc interview Sounds awesome It wasn’t bad (I hope) but in the back of my head I have the feeling that it’s going to be even more work and delayed gratification… something that I have done all my life… and this time I know is because I know is unlikely to find a job in science in my 3rd world country (it’s politics and credentials) so a way to find some economical stability is continue the academic ladder; I love science but I don’t know… scary

I’ve thought about it and while I like the core message behind this video, it’s kind of too little too late I love crash course but I always felt they seemed too sympathetic towards the current education system I went to school to learn? Speak for yourselfbrbrI went to K-12 because it was required by law and social custom I went to college to get a job Never in that process did anyone particularly care whether I liked it or not, or whether I found what I was learning interesting It was all a mindless slog, and did a relatively poor job preparing me for my career in the end
