If you give 100$ to the institution and you get get to keep the 80$ you’ll lose 20$ not gain 20$ By the way you don’t promise the price of the share but you’ll promise to return the share You don’t know anything about the short selling I can understand by this video Usually short selling includes short time to sell the customers and institutions charge interest rate to the hedge fund companies if they don’t complaint to the time There are lot includes in this short selling certainly not what you told You don’t make sense at all
