I have an intel i9 13th gen 13900kf and MPG Z690 CARBON WIFI Motherboard The question I have is when I use the MSI default OC settings I cannot launch any directx12 games (I have to force them to Directx11) I get the same issue with these OC settings, but with default settings it works fine I believe to track it down to the CPU should I RMA the CPU or is just bad silicone luck? I just switched from my MSI Meg Z790 Ace motherboard to the Asus ROG Maximus Z790 APEX (2-DIMM) motherboard to help increase my ram and general overclocking potential, but one weird thing I’ve noticed is that I’m getting much cooler temperatures on the Asus motherboard even with Multi core enhancement unleashed limits turned on I’m even able to do 60x/60x/59x/59x/59x/59x/59x/59x on the performance cores and still stay under 75 C in the CPU Z stress test I thought something was wrong so I tried another Asus z790 hero motherboard with the same results I guess it’s also possible I didn’t have my 420mm Corsair AIO installed properly on the first msi board? I have 6 fans in push pull on 100 max speed and pump at extreme setting all the time I have a 13900ks Do these temps seem right for my cooler Also have a thermal Grizzly contact frame installed Comment from : Hadley S |

Hey Bang, I was trying something similar to this on my 13900KS with a 420mm AIO and I can set something like 62GHz all-core with TVB enabled which lets me game at 60-61GHz adaptive voltage with a decent temp (65C), however HWiNFO shows that my chip is pulling an average of like 1489v while gaming Obviously the GPU is doing most of the work and CPU usage is low around 10-30 so it's not constantly receiving that much voltage, but do you know if the chip receiving nearly 15v here and there for gaming will damage/degrade the chip?brbrI know static voltage at above 14v can degrade the chip but I'm not sure how adaptive voltage works Comment from : iXzenoS |
