D Ramsey would disagree with me, but having 1 cashback CC that doesn't charge an annual fee does benefit slightly AS LONG as you keep yourself from using it needlessly I pay off my cc every 1st and 15th to keep from paying a monthly interest fee and use it only for normal monthly expenses Typically no more than a few hundred dollars The only exception is for emergency needs that occasionally do pop up But I always have the funds to cover the charge in the EF

I'm a big believer in maximizing credit card use within my usual spending I have all of my credit cards set to automatic payment each month, keep a full month's expenses buffer in each of my checking accounts, and have an emergency fund of 6 months of expenses (half my goal that I'm currently working towards) Thanks to my system, I recently bought a plane ticket with $5 out of pocket This only works because I am extremely fastidious and track every dollar spent Credit cards aren't for everyone but are amazing for those who know how to use them
