One of the biggest things you didn’t mention is when you are taking images with autofocus, take several frames because the autofocus can vary slightly regardless of proper camera handling I usually rattle off at least 10 frames - while continuously or single auto focusing The electronic autofocus can vary from photo to photo - even in single frame Comment from : CHOCLODITE LENSMAN |

The sharpening mask is you friend in Lightroom Move it as far to the right as you can to sharpen only those elements you want and mask out the rest And don't have the sharpening slider any more than 40 or 50 Comment from : B Me |

GR8 stuff- now to go and apply it ! Comment from : Yop Hosy |

I'd love to spend time in Scotland photographing I'd imagine the possibilities are endless Maybe this winter Comment from : Conor Ryan |

One thing that is easy to overlook that can greatly affect sharpness is vibration on the platform I'm thinking particularly of shooting wildlife from a pontoon boat It's not enough to be not moving and having the engine in neutral Even a very smoothly running engine will guarantee that you will not get a sharp image You need to turn the engine off The same goes with cars Comment from : Ron Jenkins |

Thank you! Comment from : RC BOSS |
Wait, Nigel, did you actually mean to convey “lenses are sharpest wide open” (eg at 9:35-ish)? I haven’t read many of people’s comments, but that can’t be right What am I missing? Comment from : Richard Price |
Nah I have to disagree with the whole megapixels not mattering I can't fall into that sorry to sound like a typical hating downer on youtube but I promise I'm not that way lol My shots taken with my A7rii vs my Nikon D7100 both using great lens shows a BIG difference This goes for ISO as well and you can for a fact see differences with high ISO's between the two Comment from : AP Dallas Photos |

In cinematography there is a saying that a great movie is not all about what you show, but rather what you hide Comment from : Daniel Alt |
But you can’t see anyone 😅😅😅 Comment from : Geoff Simpson Creative |

Great video Nigel! I had a feeling that the focal length of the lens can affect the aperture range of focus! Looking at the barrels of old vintage Nikkor lenses, when they still indicated zone focus ranges, I do notice how different they are between my 24mm and 135mm This makes sense now Also, loved that ending - "I am going to shoot some shells on the shore" I will have a few pints and try repeating that phrase 10 times fast 😂🍻 cheers Comment from : Tyler Stevenson |
I'm so glad I stumbled across your videos! Been telling everyone I know about them, very clear speaking and the information is valuable as well Comment from : Duskkey |
Same old stuff Nothing new ! Comment from : Johan Bos |
You keep pointing to videos that don`t appear Comment from : Smuggins |
Hi Nigel thnx foar this clear 'how to do' video I was wondering what type / brand of (geared) head you're using on your tripod Thnx Comment from : Hette Bonnema |
Am concerned hyper focal distance was not mentioned So, rather than focus on the furthest point in a picture focus on something about two thirds of the way in This ensures both sharpness at infinity and near distance Comment from : Andrew Llewellyn |
What remote can I use for the z6ii ? Comment from : John H |
iso does not add noise unless you are exposing wrong!!!!brhigh iso increases sensitivity to lightshoot film and you'll learn thatbrhigh iso is for low lightlow isso is for bright light Comment from : Quite the Contrary |
