SIMILAR SCAM - VENDING MACHINES - Some Vending Machines are now equipped with a credit card reader instead of paying cash You swipe your card like any other store does, You choose your purchases, collect the product and don't walk away yet, You MUST click on "Complete" or "Complete Transaction" to finalize the sale otherwise you walk away and others can purchase several items on your card without your knowledge until you get the statement 30 days later Of course all scams your cheated you can contact SECURITY thru the credit card / bank company they'll investigate it, waiving you from the theft, closing out your account and issuing you another card

This is really only a debit card issue Credit cards aren’t used at atms really by most ppl

The ATM I regularly use will prompt me to enter my pin again, does this happen using the "TAP" feature? I never use the "TAP" feature anyway

Wells Fargo ATM's end session after each NFC based transaction but I think for most people that works out fine, only a small majority might need to deposit and withdraw at the same time while most likely get checks direct deposited and only use the ATM for withdrawal

I’m glad to see a video promoting tap to pay when using an ATM Some banks also allow contactless interactions without a card using the bank’s phone app

Even if the card owner or the scammer presses YES, the ATM is going to ask to re-enter the PIN which the scammer does not have

Tap to pay is not more secure You can use a flipper with a boosted signal and grab the card number and expiration date from the card You don't get the CCV, but not every website requires them at the moment My credit card company doesn't offer one without and I might close the account I never asked for it and shouldn't be forced to use something with such a glaringly gigantic security flaw
