No food is ever put on bottom of dish So your saying the soap would crack the bottom of this dish I call total bs!! Great tips, but I do have an alternative opinion on the silverware:brI balways/b place the silverware "top side up" into the basket so that gravity will pull the rinse water downwards to the handle Rinsing water still contains some detergent from the rinse aid and you don't want that puddling up and dry out on the end of the silverware that you stick into your mouthbrTo prevent spoons from spooning, I make sure that I only put a single spoon into each of the basket's compartment - or just use the separation cover that most baskets now come with for that purpose

My quality dish washer can be over load like a Tetris game, plates are 1 cm apart each other, and the top tray which is for utensils can be 100 loaded (they all sit less than 1 cm apart there) and it will always come perfect clean :D

I don’t agree with the statement that rinsing the “dirt” off the dishes will do damage to them or leave a haze It takes a bit more work upfront, but I’ve always rinsed everything off the dishes before loading them, so that I can run the express wash cycle and unload the dishes before bed For years, I’ve never had any damage done to the dishes, or hazing (with a good detergent), and they come out 100 clean, without fail Another benefit is that you don’t have to be as worried about overloading You still don’t want any nesting, but your gaps between dishes can be a bit smaller

We find in our Miele dishwasher the Miele tablets really do give the best resultshave tried other brands, both cheap and highly rated (in reviews) but they either left films or didn't clean well We also load the dishwasher following the Miele instructions brbrDo we hand pre-wash our dishes? NoBUT we RINSE everything when we bring it to the sink so we don't have disgusting dried-on food at the end of the day when we load the dishwasherthat also saves the step of cleaning out the dishwasher filter after every load (if you leave food there, it will mold) brBTW, the sales rep also said you needn't pre hand wash the dishes brbrAll that said, this system works for our current dishwasher (which works better than the one it replaced (even though the former brand was among the good brands) brbrThere isn't "one right way" to do stuffexperiment, avoid being dogmatic and do what works with what you have

This is why it's easier to just wash your dishes by hand By the time you've washed food off the plates etc before putting into the washer one might as well spend a bit more time and actually wash them, no need to bend your knees or back a hundred times, it's instant and no having to empty the dishwasher having to bend your back/knees yet again

Never, never put glasses in a dishwasher The cause of clouding on glasses is from the micro particles that come from metal pans in the same wash As evidence to this fact note that hard cooking glass dishes do not get clouded because the glass is treated to resist heat and that also stops metal particles clouding that type of glass I have been told of many other reasons for that clouding but believe me it's the metal particles Professional machines exist just for glasses for that reason
