Juat to remind people here watching Exchange rate doesnt affect the power of the currency Let me elaborate the basic for example If the Currency is weaker to US dollar means its very weak at importing since they can exchange in low value, if the currency is stronger than US dollar means the opposite Second for the case of Russian Economy they have a powerful GDP PPP (Purchasing Power Parity) even the exchange rate is 100 Russian Rubble is to 1 US dollar normal citizens cam still purchase decent goods if you compare that to my Country Philippines the Exchange rate is 56 Philippines Pesi is to 1 US dollar but at that price we can only buy 1 kilo of rice and that all we can spend that amount of money because Philippines has one of the worst performing GDP PPP In context Russia is powerful in export since they had a powerful GDP PPP but weak at import because of the exchange rate while my country is both weak at export and import because of the both GDP Nominal and GDP PPP also thanks to inflation everything worsen up
