The problem is that Peters eyes aren’t as large with the new model and the lightning doesn’t do them any favors It also looks like his eyebrows are less expressive which makes it harder to read his emotions

I like the facial expressions, lighting, slightly more detailed model of that fallen server rack, and the lower framerate of the old cutscene better Just needs a 1/50th of a second shutter speed equivalent motion blur, and it's perfect

4:05 so not only did they not spend enough time giving the newer face model a lot of expression, they didn’t even put light on the newer model’s face, I think that’s what makes everyone hate the newer one, on the older one you can see the light shine off of his eyes, you can see the emotion on his eyes, but in the newer one at times you can hardly see his eyes, I think they could definitely make the newer one good, better if they really wanted to, but they clearly didn’t spend enough time on the remaster, a couple graphical updates yeah, but not necessarily better, I’d rather have a great looking 40 fps Spider-Man than a DLSS non-emotional 120 fps Spider-Man

At first the new face didn't stick with me but I started liking it That ending scene with May with the PS4 version made me feel bad for Peter but in the PS5 version, I actually started tearing up I think the reason why people like the old face better is because they're much more used to it When the second game comes out, I'm sure people will like the new face better

The main issue is that this new model was mapped onto th same performance so the folds in the face aren’t the same , in the cutscenes in miles morales the Peter has much more expressive range because they’re made new for that model

Beyond the face change, even the lighting in the original felt more realistic The way the light reflects off otto’s face in the new one makes him look far more animated than he used to The new cutscenes look too saturated and shadeless, as though the final layer of rendering never happened…

The old addage still holds true "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" I'm not sure what the reason was for the remodel but honestly I fail to see why it was changed I hope there's a mod that comes out with using the old peter's face but I doubt it The ps4 version of parker made us all feel his emotions like we were right there with him, from seeing Aunt May's decline to being betrayed by someone he idolised and cared a lot about

I played this game first time on PC and we got the "PS5" face in this version, and I was really feeling like Peter was missing emotions on his face, especially at the endbrbrIn the new one it always felt like Peter has some kind of smirk on his face, like he was always smiling, even when angry, which is pretty weird In the PS4 version you can see emotions much better, also I like how he has blury eyes from being tired, and in new one he always looks very fresh
